Walmart brand SALSa's are vERy gooD!! GREAT VALUE ORGANIC MILD $1.97 GREAT VALUE ORGANIC MEDIUM $1.97 GREAT VALUE CANTINA STYLE MEDIUM $2.59? THESE salsa's are really good...try them! First two are watery..the way I like them. Cantina is thicker... I mix the first two 50/50 or Fiddy fiddy with that CANTINA... And the great value Mexican chips shaped like "bowls" are decent too... They all(3) SELL OUT QUICK leaving the thick crappy junk salsa's as the only choice... Stock up & buy several when you get the chance...all the Hispanics buy them out...usually hard to find on the shelf. |

So you realize that the Walmart great value products are subsidized by the gubbermint, and the preparation of each is "supervised" by FDA agents that are assigned to each production facility? Word on the street is they're mixing in nanobots for both tracking and control purposes for "the big one". The last thing I would be ingesting is a "great value" anything. You heard it here first. |

Wal-Mart salsa?
Fracking white people food.
You probably think taco bell and chipotle make authentic Mexican food too... |

You probably think taco bell and chipotle make authentic Mexican food too... Maybe WM gets their salsa from AZ...like from Busa's source BTW, I had a crispy cheddar chalupa from Taco Bell yesterday -- may not have been Mexican, but it was pretty dang good. Say - what is authentic Mexican food, anyway? Never found two Mexicans who could agree -- they got all kinds of stuff in Mexico and the desire to be labeled 'authentic Mexican' here in the states is rather silly -- and probably only matters to those of us that like fracking white people food |

I would start with anything that contains ground beef... Officially not Mexican...
Then move onto anything that contains "cheese sauce"... Not Mexican...
Other than that, if it's served in a tortilla, on a tortilla, or with tortillas, Mexican food... |

As for Chipotle, massive amount of their business is burritos and taco salads. Neither of which are Mexican, the burrito was invented in California in the early 1900's and taco salad is strictly american. Chimichanga, forget it. not even close. Then fajitas, which are on every dine-in Mexican restaurant menu in the country, are from Texas around the same time as the burrito. Ropa Vieja also found on those menus is actually Cuban. The margarita isn't even Mexican. Tortilla chips, they way they exist today, not so much... Mexican cuisine varies greatly depending on the region and what's available, one of the reasons why even Mexicans disagree on it. For example, costal areas are typically seafood based, inland could be fowl or goat. Beef based is when you want to draw the line on the calendar since cattle aren't indigenous. Most of it is plated, tortillas were the bread equivalent, while the taco is more of a modern street food. Most of the fried stuff is not and comes from other cultures. Anything with cheddar cheese or cheese sauce isn't. Sour cream is a rarity if at all. |

The best store brand I've tried is Aldi's Double Fire Roasted Organic. It's only medium, so it takes a couple good squirts of Habanaro paste to get the heat level right.

I had some Wally wine tonight - $ 3 a bottle at Walgreens in Maine. Went pretty good with the lasagna, but seemed a bit watery even for a Merlot. |
