our withdrawal was so sudden and unexpected that we had to send fighter planes to blow up our base, so that our weapons and hardware wouldn't fall into enemy hands...our troops also came under fire during their retreat and are still in a war zone...hundreds of thousands of Syrian civilians are fleeing from their homes in the region we vacated...
civilians who were friendly to us were being summarily executed on the streets...
this is reminiscent of the ignominious end to our lost cause retreat in Viet Nam in 1975...
it took us decades after we abandoned our allies in South Viet Nam for us to re-establish trust around the world...
ISIS survivors now have a free zone in which to operate, and terrorism experts say they will target our homeland...
