Thank you Gentlemen. That Weller's been buried for awhile, and in the interest of full disclosure I did have an internal debate over it. But, given the levels of generosity displayed around here on a regular basis there wasn't really a question, especially for the holiday. Bourbon is meant to be enjoyed, just like cigars. And besides, I couldn't let my liege "The NooB King" down my first time at bat. |

very unselfish Vince Ron says the 12 is MIA since 2016. I think at least a year, probably 2 or 3 longer than that around here.
but the good news is there are tons of others to love.
classy move, gunnah. |

What Ron was referencing was the old style label though. They changed the bottle style up several years ago. That is one of the older bottles. As to my generosity, it is merely a reflection of what the members of this forum do every day. I have been afforded the opportunity to smoke some cigars I never even knew existed, irreplaceable cigars, actual unicorns. By guys I didn't even know. That is generosity. And most here are like that. I could do no less in the company of such fellows examples. =d> |

Fine job!
Nice job, and yep, good catch on the older bottle. I'm thinking it was '15 when they finished with those style bottles with the plastic sticker as a label. I have a handful of 107's like that. A local actually has a bottle of the 12 year old, so they said, and when I asked about the price out of curiosity, and they replied $399, I told them that was dumb as a bag of hammers and I was at least a little sharper than a circle, thanked them and hung up, LOL!
You are correct whiskey is to be enjoyed. I open odd and rare bottles every time we have a family gathering or the various nephew/son in laws come over. I stopped any serious bourbon buying a few years ago. All I bother to get now is the Booker's. My guess is that most of the millennial and young'ns can't handle the high proof, and I'm glad. |

But I drink enough whiskey and whisky that it wouldn't be special if I only drank those. |

Thanks. LOL. Bag of hammers. I use that. I got quoted $200 for a bottle of Blantons once. Dude got indignant when I laughed out loud. Numismaniac wrote:I stopped any serious bourbon buying a few years ago. All I bother to get now is the Booker's. My guess is that most of the millennial and young'ns can't handle the high proof, and I'm glad. Yeah, I'm not paying $200 for a bottle of bourbon. I did it once for a bottle of PVW 20 year old and was very disappointed. The 15 was way better. That stuff isn't even on my radar anymore. Gougers are us. I like Bookers. I got some Heaven Hill for my birthday, I like that. Col. E.H. Taylor. There are a lot of good bourbons out there. |

I'll never cease to be amazed at some of the markups retailers do on their bourbons. Especially with so many options out there. Bookers, Heaven Hill, EH Taylor, all very tasty bourbons. Four Rose's makes some good ones too. |

When you do pick up a bottle of Old GrandDad 114 as well.Try a side by side...…...I'm not saying they're exact or the OGD 114 is heads and tails better.I'm saying for the coin there isn't enough difference to pay the premium. |

I have the OG 114. That's a staple. Thanks for the heads up, I'll do a compare for sure. |
