Here we go!!!!
1. Author: grmcooperDate: Mon, 8/3/2020, 11:40AM EST
My entire life I have been around trucking and trucks. I have went from the bottom to moving some of the biggest loads in the country.

I started a equipment transport company for a gentleman in Arizona. I grew it from 1 truck to 12 in 7 years. Times were good for me.

I get let go from my job 3 days after my father passed away in August of 2019.

I slipped into a funk for about a year.

But then I remembered a friend that always offered to start my OWN company. I always turned it down and didn't want the hassle of it all.

Well by the end of this month I will have my first truck and trailer hauling equipment in Arizona.

I have came out of the funk and my hair is on fire. My business partner is a very nice guy and is excited to get into a different business than he's used to. He watched and saw what I was doing for other people and he said I should be doing that for yourself. Damn its crazy.

I have bought a very nice 2013 Kenworth and beaver tail trailer.

Still working on the logo and stuff.

Oh 2 million in cargo insurance will make your heart stop......

Cooper

All kidding aside im alcohol free and nicotine free. Nicotine was the hard one. Alcohol was no big deal. I drank to mask the pain. Now that I have found a better way for pain relief I really dont have a need at the moment for alcohol.

I'm not against it at all. I will probably drink the first night the truck worked.

Mike, its going OK for me. I didn't want to go through another hassle at work so I retired instead of dealing with the economy and lack of flying. I would've been secure but I just felt it was the best time to get out of it.

Congrats on all counts! I agree on the cigarettes/nicotine. You will find it's nowhere as hard to stop the THC if needed, but sounds like you're covered. That's good. I had about as much trouble stopping Dr. Pepper as anything, except cigarettes!! As for cigars, I can smoke a few in consecutive days and then go months without easily. I don't get enough nicotine regularly to cause any "feining".

Best of luck on all counts, Brother.

My brother in law has had trucks for a long time. He's done a bunch of transporting and dabbled in nursery stock. When the housing market crashed back in 2008, he and my sister were in dire straits after a few years... if builders ain't building houses, they ain't buying trees and shrubs to landscape.

Fast forward a few years... he gets a contract with Tate's cookies. They are literally 2-3 miles from his house. They pay him $275 a load to transport cookies from the bakery to the warehouse 12 miles away. He does 7-8 loads a day, average. Some days more. Needless to say, he's killing it. My nephew drives one truck, he drives the other. He's retiring... my niece just got her class A CDL.

Best of luck, Mike... I hope ya kill it.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. It will go good. I know how brand X does sales calls.... He's a complete idiot. Customer service is all I have to sell. Got to look good but Customer service. Thats all people want with a fair price.
