California Highway Patrol Won't Release Footage of Drunken Paul Pelosi Arrest
Just to be clear —Paul Pelosi drove drunk, ran a stop sign, and hit another driver. Those are the facts. And here’s another one: the California Highway Patrol won’t release the video footage of the arrest because it could “jeopardize” the investigation. It’s not liberal privilege, you see —it could really impact the investigation No one is buying that line of bull.
According to the New York Post, “In a separate press release Thursday, the DA’s Office said that it has not decided yet what, if any, charges, will be filed against the 82-year-old businessman.”
“This is standard protocol in any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County,” the agency stated. “No decision has been made at this time. Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.”
No charges for Pinot Paul —who smashed a Porsche into another driver while driving drunk through wine country? Well don’t that just smack of liberal elitism and a two-tiered justice system that caters to the Royal Pelosis.
“Paul was released from jail on May 29 on $5,000 bail. He could face misdemeanor charges such as driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher,” the Post reported.

You are exactly right for a situation like this one- where the accused has the means to bond-out immediately and a private lawyer. If he has no prior DUI and an otherwise good driving record, he might enter a pre-trial diversion program for first offenders, but IDK for sure. Even people with public defenders can get that- after they bail-out. |

Mr. Pelosi, 82, is scheduled to be arraigned in Napa County Superior Court on Aug. 3. “Under California law, these charges can be filed as a misdemeanor or felony,” Allison Haley, the county district attorney, said in a statement. “Based upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the district attorney filed misdemeanor charges. This decision is consistent with how our office handles these cases with similar injuries.” A spokesman for Mr. Pelosi declined to comment on Thursday. A spokesman for Ms. Pelosi said in May that the speaker would not be commenting on the “private matter,” which occurred while she was on the East Coast.
