Got my mower today and a battery powered Ryobi trimmer. 1 set of pruning shears and lopping shears for trimming the branches away from the house. Couple small trees in the front planter. Battery is the same as my drill, so now I have 3 of them... prolly get more Ryobi shit once the garage cabinets and work bench are in.

Already showered after changing the outside spigot valve in the front. Couldn't find the water shutoff valve anywhere...

So got my swim trunks on, took off my shirt, prepped everything and took off the old valve and replaced it with a new one while the water flowed. Only got a little wet. Gonz

Will mow and edge tomorrow. Need to get some more Tenacity. Dude did not take care of this lawn and the weeds are every-damn-where. I'll give it 6 months to a year and if I can't get the damn things eradicated, I'll rip out the turf and put new stuff in.

Before giving up check out your sprinkling system (presuming you have one), hire a lawn spray service through the late spring to see if it is really necessary. Most weeds in St. Augustine are either seasonal or due to over or under watering.

Yes, we have a sprinkler system. It's not on right now because we've been getting rain often enough.

Hah. Imagine that. Back in 1984 when my company got our bootcamp liberty weekend a few guys decided to shoot flaming shots of Barcardi 151. For some odd reason which I don’t recall I didn’t partake. Anyway one guy managed to splash a flaming shot all over his face. He ended up with a few splotches of third degree burns on his face and was rewarded with 4 extra weeks of bootcamp. Talk about a double Dutch f**k.

There used to be a punishing drink called a Bear Hunter.
- 1/2 shot Bacardi 151 Rum
- 1/2 shot Extra Sharp Ginger Brandy
- 7 drops of Tabasco sauce

After a few of those, the hangover was more preferable to the next three bowel movements.

I hate a lack of shutoff valves. Hell, I'd prefer additional isolation valves to easily replace the shutoff valve when it goes bad

And there it is. I'm still hating on summer but the nights are starting to cool a little now.

Have a few projects around the house I have been putting off for cooler weather. First off is expansion joint replacement on the 3 car driveway. My back is not looking forward to that one.

Cut my lawn today and found it! It's on the left side of the house, close to the foundation in a round, green handhole. Damn thing was full of dirt though. Hadda dig it out so I could turn the damn valve.

Got myself a Murray 21" 140 cc Briggs & Stratton mower, a Ryobi trimmer and now a Ryobi blower. Got some roundup, too... used it in the beds up front and along the edge of the house and fence to keep the grass and weeds away. Then used it on the sidewalk cracks where weeds had popped up.

Gonna feed the living **** out of the grass (and weeds) for the next couple weeks and when the weeds are nice and fed... I'll hit them with Tenacity. It kills the weeds and not the grass. Roundup kills every-damn-thing.

Arrgg! Got about half the old driveway concrete expansion joint cleaned out. It was much harder than I thought with a chisel and mallet to clean the years of accumulation out enough to set in new joints. Walking slow and a little bent over today. Gonna have to wait a few days to tackle the rest.

Coffeed up, dog walked... took down the American Flag flying out front. I guess we're as ready as we can get.

Yard is not finished, but the weed barrier is down and the crushed granite is laid on top of it. The sand is still in a pile and I'm thinking if the wind and rain are heavy enough, ol' boy is gonna be buying more sand.

Rain predicted until Saturday so the fuggers won't be back to finish until Monday, more than likely.

39 with wind chill taking it to 33.
Two over medium eggs, spinach and garlic lovingly sandwiched between two slices of garlic cheddar toast.
Also trying to drink 128 ounces of water again today.
Coffee 3/4 the way down.
Dog walk and exercise planned for the mid and late morning.

Prudent. My town is kinda hilly and the wind can get rather whippy in harsh weather. When I flew flags outside, I'd go through about 3 per year. I tried all different fabrics but unless you had a super heavy duty one, they would take a beating.

Getchya one of those car window flags.. I run them on the back of my Harley at 80-90+ MPH during our cross country runs and only lost one flag in over 100K miles over the years.. tough fuggers.. but their only 10"X15" Herfing

MACS, you may need that sand for sandbags! Come to thihnk of it, you could sell it for $5 a bag, "no waiting". I heard lines were hours long to fill sand bags at approved locations on the coast. Why dont't people just go to the beach and get sand for sand bags?

My boy has become a workout warrior. He’s getting me in shape as well. One thing he pushes is water intake. Generally, 12 ounces or so a day is all I’ve been drinking. Bought for me a gallon cup with lines on it in two hour intervals. Said I’d feel even better and will get improved sleep.

Damn if he wasn’t right. The 20,000 steps that day could have also been a contributing factor. 90:sleep score even with the two nocturnal pizzes.

110 ounces down so far. Now I’m trying to drink the 128 in twelve hours (6:00-6:00) to mitigate the night nature calls.
