Funny white spots

I bought some RyJ reserva reals recently that arrived with fuzzy white spots. It flakes/wipes off but I’m curious. I assume it won’t hurt me, what with the burning and all;-)

If it fuzzy then it's for sure mold. I've wiped off some and they still smoked fine. You should be able to tell pretty quickly after lighting if it got mold on the inside too. The taste should be WAY off.

^Agreed

Check out the foot of the cigar. If you have spots there, you have a more serious mold problem.

Although, I have found a little mold on the foot, cut it off, and seen that the mold hadn't gone any deeper, so I smoked it.

Ha!
So true…

Hey OP, as noted above, check the foot. If there IS mold on the open part of the foot?
Chuck it, send it back, whatever……don’t smoke it.
Sure, you can cut an inch off the cigar, and HOPE you got all the mold. Mold spores are sneaky, and proliferate quickly.

These aren’t rare aged Cubans…………they’re at best decent yard gars…….and not worth dealing with mold over.

A highly credible Cuban website collected like 50 samples of cigars thought by their owners/customers to have developed plume. Then, then sent them for lab testing. 98.2% were mold.

Was there honestly any that was not mold^??

Watched a YouTube vid where people sent in smokes. They were all determined to be a form of mold. Each one.

Not really.
BTW, , it was done by a highly credible La Casa del Habano in Australia that had/has a killer Cuban cigar chatroom like cbid.

most likely mold as plume is pretty rare and takes a long time compare to mold which is super quick, either way if it wipes off and you smoke it you'll be fine
