Green is Red...

Looks like the world's largest supplier of windfarms is begging for more government regulation to allow them to install more windfarms. There does not seem to be the demand in the commercial sector for investment without significant subsidies or mandates.

"There are more than 500 U.S. manufacturing facilities specializing in wind components such as blades, towers, and generators, as well as turbine assembly across the country. In fact, modern wind turbines are increasingly cost-effective, reliable, and have scaled up in size to multi-megawatt power ratings. Since 1999, the average generating capacity of newly installed wind turbines has more than doubled to 3 MW."

So basically you want to kill US businesses by calling them Chinese...

Germany...China...

"The Germany-based company, which dubs itself as "the global leader in offshore power generation," noted the wind industry has faced various unfavorable pressures leading to negative growth in recent months and years, in its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023 released Thursday morning. The company added that governments would need to further assist the industry to ensure future positive growth."

Yes - but no one cares.

No one cares about the harm to wild life from drilling for gas and oil, or oil spills, or any industrial operation. This is America! We drive whole species to extinction - no big deal.

The rub here has nothing to do with animals being killed by energy production. It is "green is bad" so stick with coal and oil.

Honestly - do you give a sh1t about wild animal vs energy production?

Comical from the guy that says he bought an EV because he doesn't care about the environment!

Meanwhile in the real world....

"In short, the United States is following California and Europe into disastrous energy policies that lead to frequent blackouts and brownouts, and people cutting down forests to warm themselves in frigid winters. Apparently, it needs to be noted that people regularly die when the power goes out, especially the sick, young, and elderly. Hospitals, nursing homes, and emergency services depend on reliable power.

Atop all these reasons to eschew wind farms, Lee notes another top concern of locals forced yet again to absorb the high costs of rich people’s fantasies: Wind farms are not only noisy and destructive to local habitats, they’re ugly as sin.

“Biden administration climate envoy John Kerry may bask in fawning headlines, but Hoosiers won’t be able to escape the sight of wind turbines or solar arrays as easily as he escapes Davos on a jet. These eyesores will be permanent features of daily life, along with — potentially — seasonal energy shortfalls,” Lee notes.

The brute ugliness of wind farms ought to be considered one more significant strike against them. Yes, wind turbines require slave labor and empower China by requiring rare-earth minerals China mostly controls and mines in horrifying work conditions. Building the equipment for wind farms and their installations badly damages the environment."

Hey, wind farms are fine - great even. They look better than smokestacks!

I get a kick out of "the sky is falling" attitude above. "If we add windmills to the power grid, the grid will collapse, people will die, cat and dogs will live together!!!"

"wind turbines require slave labor..." Like the slaves wouldn't just be doing something else. Did you read this crap?

"...by requiring rare-earth minerals China mostly controls and mines in horrifying work conditions." They do coal mining for power. What is that cake walk on a sunny day??

Look Out - The Windmills are coming!
They'll get you! They'll get us all!!
They'll take your daughter - Errrh - and her little dog too!!

LOL

^ The grid is in desperate need of a complete rebuild with massive improvements. That's a fact Jack. That said I will take wind over coal/LNG 24/7.
