Appraisal too high?

In-laws and niece and nephew coming to visit. Wife is going into frenzied cleaning mode. I tried to tell her we've barely even lived here. Chit can't be that dirty

Cloudy, rainy and cold here, been that way all week. Tomorrow it's supposed to warm up, I'm going to mow for the first time of the season.

Heading to Sam's Club-- bout an hour and 15 min away.

Wife is happy about it.

We only go two or three times a year, but if you buy enough durable goods on each visit there isn't a need to go more than a handful of times per year anyway.

I know it's an awesome grocery store too, but we don't have the luxury of using it for that purpose. Plus we buy our beef from a cattle farmer and grow our own vegetables.

As far as dry goods, we buy a ton. Sometimes I even buy whiskey, even though the wife and I don't drink alcohol. Barter system works if you have what people want.

I once paid a guy to tear down a building on this property with a fifth of Wild Turkey 101, two cases of Bud Light and he got to keep the scrap metal. Lol!

People are crazy AF around here. I fit right in. :)

Now that we've doubled our population with IL expats, the IL taxes have followed them.

Mowed the lawn where I could. Still too wet to mow even half of it.

Had to give wife my pager and told her to call me if it goes off, then put my earbuds in under my earmuffs so I could hear if she called my phone.

Took my last batch of jerky to work. Old job it would sit there for a week. New job it was gone in a day. So I gotta make more. Bought a 4lb eye of round and sliced it up. Napping in marinade overnight and make jerky tomorrow.

I think it's time for another garage cigar.

Once again, sitting in the garage, listening to music, sipping my Crown and smoking a cigar. Wife comes home from a craft show, opens the garage door and...its snowing AGAIN! Another Saturday, another snow storm, so much for our first rain of the year...

Went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls.

I got a cheap set of Top Flite. If I like golf and get halfway decent I’ll get some Callaway 9000 titanium AI enabled with the GPS guided putter with a built in wifi hotspot. Or something like that.

I certainly do miss the San Diego weather, the parks and canyons, the restaurants and craft beer.

Got my first call-in at work tonight. Just finished up my burger was about to start on the 2nd and the pager went off. Threw some shoes on and took off. Traffic around here sucks ass, and is even worse on a weekend afternoon. I drove like an azzwhole and got there in 28 minutes from the call. 30 minute maximum for a call in.

Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix from Suzuka Circuit is on in 3 hours. I'm going to try to make it.

Still gotta do my taxes. That's on the to do list tomorrow. Might be complicated this year with switching jobs and 401(k) rollovers that were sitting out there from previous jobs. I want to get it all under one roof rather than have 3 of them in 3 different places.

I do my own taxes with H&R Block software the past couple of years. Had a tax guy do them in prior years but my taxes are pretty simple so why pay $200 to the tax guy when the software can walk you through it?

Sat with my son to do his and show him the ropes. He's a student while working part time. Only 1 W2 to deal with - easy peasy. He's getting a nice return but I explained to him that the goal is to not get a return (you paid too much and gave the government a free loan) nor owe them taxes. The target is to not overpay nor under pay. $0 on your tax return for getting back and $0 to payback - that's goal. He needs to redo his W-4 withholdings.

7 year old had her birthday party today. 15 six to seven year old girls, damn they are beasts. Mostly smiles, save for the one or two kids who would find something to complain about a bowl of ice cream... I am beat and all I did was show up and lug goodie- bags and pizza and gifts back and forth from the car.

Another good night doing musics. Had a big crowd.

Not much on the agenda for today. Gonna be a nice day, though... 43 now, 75 and sunny later.

Chill out today for the most part. Weather is predicted to be in the low to mid 40s. Crock pot is working to cook a beef roast, will do tacos for lunch. Do a couple loads of laundry and visit a friend for a couple hours to shoot the $hit. I want the snow to melt away so I can fire up the fire pit and get the container garden going but Mother Nature is out of my control.

Planted some herb seeds in pots a week or so ago but they haven't broken ground yet. I'll give them another week and it they don't show signs of life I'll try another round. 3D printed some suet cages yesterday to supply the birds some free fat for them to eat while they prepare for the coming season. I'll just zip tie the feeders to the deck railing.

Aldi store in town just opened a couple days ago. Maybe I'll stop in and check it out.

I don't predict a lot of things but I predict a little nap will set in later today. The odds of that happening is better than the odds of winning Power Ball or any lottery ticket. The lottery: a tax on people that don't understand statistics. With that said, I'm guilty of buying a quick pick once and a while.

I need to head to the shpo and see what is there that I want. Maybe have a glass of hooch and smoke a good'un.

Wife has a couple friends here today... get me away from the cacklin' hens for a bit.

There's this huge orange/yellow ball of fire in the sky. Everything is so bright. Not sure what to make of it...

Watching youtube videos with the boy for a bit, then it's jerky day. Got a few cigars lined up. If the weather gets nicer I really need to clean the chicken coop but it's wet and cold out right now.

Just made pizza dough for a deep dish pizza for dinner. Kinda a Giordanos copy without the second crust. I may reverse the cheese and toppings this time which would be more like Gino’s or Lou Malnati’s with a Giordano’s crust.
