back to cigars.....

... a month or so ago some of us were discussing the Flor de Oliva Grand Cameroon cigars. Had another one yesterday. Has any one else noticed how this cameroon is soooo tastey? I will even go as far as to say it rivals the C.A.O cameroons. The difference is that the CAO wrappers are so brittle vs. the LFGC. I know the wrapper by nature is thin and delicate but the shape of the CAO, leaves the cigar suseptable to damage. Too many of mine have peeled or split etc... The box press LFGC hold up quite nicely and earns and extra point in my book. Has any one tried since our last debate?

I have a few of these in my 'dor. In my opinion one of the better values on the market.

I love the Flor de Oliva. I agree that the FDO Grand Cameroon wrapper rivals the CAO. CAO L'Anniversaire is still a better cigar. At half the price, the FDO is a great alternative.

I picked one of these randomly from a tobacco shop back in May. It was impressive. Its also a pretty good value when you can actually find them by the box.

I submit the regular line of Flor's is bordering on sheer naked harshness. Haven't you noticed how the tips are sweetened to soften the blow? The Cameroon series is better, the wrapper saves it. Sadly for the wrapper in that it is wrapped around some young inexperienced tobacco, which I hope time in the humdidor mellows it out.

i think the difference is that the FDOGC's are made with Cameroon/Equadoran wrappers (equadoran seed grown in africa or maybe its vice-versa) and the CAO"s are actual Cameroon/Cameroon ,thats why the FDOGS is less expensive

20 years later and the CAOs I purchased are still pretty darned good but I haven’t tried the FDOG Camaroon. Any of you experts have an opinion?

What's FDOG? It's not even listed in the common acronyms

Well after brief research they renamed this cigar as the Oliva G. I have a box. I like the G. I like basically everything Oliva rolls

I’m always interested in trying cammy cigars. Didn’t know the Oliva G was one of them. Next time I’m my B&M shop, I’ll need to give it a try.

Thanks, Jake. Seems like the manufacturers like to rename and relabel quite a bit.
