So I'm working around the house today and I get a visit from a county employee. Apparently our county prohibits vehicles being parked on neighborhood streets.
My household has 3 vehicles( mine, wife's, and sons). Well I have a fairly short driveway that won't fit 2 vehicles end to end without hanging into the street. My garage holds my trailer and 2 4wheelers.
My subdivision has sidewalks that will also be blocked by a 3rd vehicle. So by parking in my driveway I'm forcing kids to ride their bikes in the street.
I explain my thoughts and the guy says, if I see it there again it's a $200 fine.
Seems a bit silly to me. And it's not like these are junky vehicles that don't run.
Guess I have no choice but to stack trucks in the driveway. |

I'll also add that our streets are abnormally wide. I think the original plans were to add a grass median but they ended up paving the whole deal.
It's not like I'm impeding traffic. Plus I live on a culdisack. ( NO SACK JOKES TW). |

I had to get permission to install a screen door on my front door. Was required to submit a written proposal, and wait 3 months for approval.

The sidewalk and space between sidewalk and street pavement are usually considered part of road right of way and therefore if you hang over the sidewalk you are probably going to get your $200 ticket. I don't agree with their regulation as many communities function just fine with on-street parking. It's a suburban thing, I guess.

When we moved into this house, we put our trash cans in the side yard next to our garage. A week later, the city sent us a warning letter saying that we have to put the trash cans behind a fence or gate to keep them out of view from the street.
We need to cul de sacs at city hall... |

And there was a time when I considered running. I am good friends with the guy who held the position for years. His wife asked me to consider it. Then I learned of all the morons you have to deal with.
