Oliva O is very nice.

New adds:

1. Gran Habano VL (usually cheap, if you can find them)
2. El Rico Habano Maddies (all of them, but especially the Gran Habanero Deluxe)

Just picked up a box of Diablo Calientes for $2 a piece. Not much spice left in these but they burn perfect and have a nice smooth flavor. Maybe it is the age but they are pretty mild.

Are they still making la vieja habana early years silencio size? I use to love those and don't see them on any sites for sale? Could use those for the cold winter smokes out in the garage tiki bar!

468 messages without degenerating into banality. Amazing.

The Cbid world really, really like to talk about cheap maddies. Great thread to start, FGM!

Oh, BTW, La Floridita, Oliva, El Meior Espresso fit the bill for me.

Also does the CAO Brazilia count as a maduro? Altho not always available cheap, they have come down some in price.

Nic 5000 elsewhere is a decent maduro. Not as good as the 3000, but solid.

For a really cheap Maduro I like the Felipe Gregorio White Horse Maduro Toro. You can get a bundle for about 30 bucks and they are a great everyday / yardwork stick.

I've been liking the CI Legends Maroons these days. I've also been enjoying the Padilla Obsidians.

People bash these, but I think for inexpensive smokes they're pretty good.

The La Floridita Belicosos are pretty good too. I recently tried a La Floridita Limited (from an unnamed supplier) and was very impressed. Although this isn't a maduro per se, but a Mata Fina.

Another one is the Ambos Mundos maduro. it lacks the depth of a Cabaiguan Guapo Maduro, but a very similar flavor.

The place I get them from claims they are maduros, but I think they may be sumatra wrappers.

The one cigar that virtually EVERYONE here has neglected to mention, is probably one of THE BEST cheap maduros out there:

Omer (sp:?) Ortiz Originals.

The taste of an RP Edge without all of the nicotine a**-kicking

Some great stuff listed here. I haven't seen these listed on this thread yet:

• Dominican Estates Maduro (ships really young so needs some beauty rest; very mild, about a buck, often less)

• Quintero Maduro (unbelievable bargain, usually $34-37/box, medium bodied, highly recommended)

• Matacan Maduro (not on CBid, very cheap, sometimes loose, very characteristic of Mexican maduro's horse manure aroma--rich, dank, and sweet)

• Reposado Maduro salomon ($2, inconsistent, but when you get a good one, WHOA.)

• Sol Cubano Series B Maduro (much heavier than the non "B," great bargain, unbelievably rich --FGM, seems like you may like these).

jpotts - ya know I just got a few of those Maroon label Legends and dammit if they aren't bad at all. Sweet, almost syrupy (not flavored). Nice medium smoke. Nothing that's gonna make you cream your shorts over but for sub $40 a box.....worth a shot.

477 I hated the La Floridita Limited
That Ambos Mundos you're referring to
IS the sumatra... (it's a dark wrapper)

One that i've been real impressed with is the Primo Del Rey Cazadores Maduro
