These were the two cigars I had today so far.

I recently found a store that sells Padron cigars. I considered having a PAM today, but instead opted to try the regular Padron line first.

So I got a Padron #4000, which is about a churchill in size, and lit up in the story. It was mid-to-full-bodied and rich, but to me seemed a little harsh at the back of my throat, almost gravelly. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the 4000, so next time I'll just shell out the extra six bucks for a PAM.

Later that day, Godfather and myself found yet another local smoke shop which we immediately fell in love with. I hadn't planned on smoking again today, but since Godfather was having one, I couldn't resist.

I'd been wanting to try the Montecristo Serie V for a long time, but was put off by how small they were. Since this was a second smoke of the day, I decided to indulge in one of the little Serie V cigars.

I was impressed! I love the regular and cabinet Montecristos...but this one was nothing at all like it! It was very full-bodied, with a beautiful brown wrapper, and it seemed to me like it tasted very much like a hearty Cuban cigar. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Try the Padron in Maduro. You may rethink your position!

Then try a Padron maduro with some age on it. Simply hard to top an aged Padron maddie in any size or shape. Top notch bang for the buck. I wanted the Serie V to work for me but even after 4 months of aging I just couldn't stick with it. Everyone has there favorites it's just not one of mine.

Padrons can be a bit harsh fresh from the store, but I still rate my own my strength preference right at the Padron flavor. I dropped a box of these in the bottom of my humi for a year and it made all the difference in the world. Smoothed them right out. Of course, this was a couple years back when I could get them for $3.50-$4.00 a stick. Very much worth the price then. Their popularity has them at $4.50-$5.50 now. That is pushing it a bit.
