Yo rookie139: Glad to hear from you it's been awhile. It was a grand thing you did for your father, how is it going for him. JonR

Yeah...As Barry said...He's doing good..Thanks!..I'm fine also..Thanks for the well-wishes..I miss a lot of the people here (even everyone's favorite liberal Rick...LOL)..Hey Chris!..What's up?..Actually I was on here for almost four years if I remember correctly(from the first day if you do a search)

(OK..Back to the drama queen's thread)...The fact that Mag emailed JD's coworkers and boss should banned from here, but if CBid doesn't take that responsibility, then I hope they get sued when the next person (Mag perhaps?) tries to go a step further because he/she is taking threads personally..My two cents, whether you want them or not "Robby" (BTW, my six year old nephew is named "Robby"...when he turns ten, we'll call him Robert because he'll be grown up then...LOL)

I vote for cello on. I used to be a cello off kind of guy, but I think I've changed my mind over the last 6 months. Keeping the cello on seems to protect the cigars better.

Why are the boards responsible for what we do in our personal lives rookie? That makes no sense...

So rookie139 takes this one thread that is on the misc board, and buys off another 6 months of the forum. I hope he finds what he is looking for. If it's cigars, then try the Trade or Cigars & Related instead of the misc. Some of us are having fun over there without attacking each other. Good luck finding a site where 100% of every discussion is EXACTLY the way you want to see it.

IMHO

I already found what I was looking for (call me Bono..LOL) Dan...I still occasionally stop in and see what's up..That's about it...Smoking the good stuff more often than what's available here...I still miss the camraderie that used to be prevalent here, and the people here are some of the best people you'll find anywhere..I just spend a lot more time on another BB..Thats all...Go ahead and flame me because I made a choice and didn't pick CBid...Flame away boys and girls! :D

Rookie's right ... the place ain't the same as it used to be and the reason he's gone is the same reason DOZENS of others have gone too ...

I see no need for ANYONE to be gone ... quite frankly, it (ticks) me off that the level of participation on the board has sunk to the sad-ass level that so many have opted to leave ... and if any one individual were at fault, whether that be Mag or JD or anyone else, I'd say let's be done with that one person and have all the rest stay ... but it's not that simple ... and each of these guys has a lot to offer if we can somehow overcome the GDBS political arguments

My take is that we're 'voting' on the wrong issue ... forget voting any individual off the island ... let's vote POLITICS off !!! ... if that were to happen, all that would be left is the cigars, booze, babes and other stuff we DON'T disagree so vehemently on ...

I've spent some very enjoyable in-person time with quite a number of the guys on this board, smokin' cigars, sipping a cool one and enjoying some good food to go with the great comraderie. And, I know for an absolute fact that all political spectrums have been represented in those gatherings, yet somehow, the subject of POLITICS never came up ONE SINGLE TIME in all those conversations ... not once did any of us throw a glass of beer in another guys face, no one punched anyone in the face, no hair was pulled, no one got bit, and there were no raised voices and name calling either.

Someone tell me WTF this board can't be just that same way ??????????????????????????????????????????????

Honest to God, I'm sick of all the crap ... the only voting I'm gonna do if this sh*t doesn't come to a screeching halt is to vote ME off this board.

I vote you stay.

I've been thinking about this subject and I guess the reason why I haven't come to the same conclusion that you have is because I still take it all so lightly. I don't mind a light political discussion, but I guess there are many who feel empowered behind a computer screen and take that opportunity to vent whatever crap has built up inside them. I don't mind light chit-chat about politics - but it should stay light hearted. After all, to repeat, it's just an internet forum...

I just read the complete thread http://www.cigarbid.com/...geDisplay=0000000011651

I am, frankly, amazed. I have smoked cigars regularly for over forty years and participated on internet cigar BBSs since they were simple list-serves.

It has always been paramount to the success of any BBS that the comments and contents stay on the board. It is incredible to me that one forum participant e-mailed another's place of employment with what appears to be a clear attempt to discredit the other person's integrity, and that the owner of the BBS did not ban the participant for sending those e-mails, immediately.

Arguments, even rabid flaming, are a good measure of more than one cigar BBS, but the flames stay on the board. In the past, an act such as this would have resulted in shunning as well as an immediate ban; no trades, no herfs, no trades.

I am not personally familiar with either of these gentlemen, other than having read a few of their posts. Their political and social opinions are of no consequence to me regarding this issue. I am quite certain I would have some common ground with both of them.

Attempting to jeopardize another participant's employment because you have a disagreement on a cigar BBS is not acceptable.

Wasn't flaming ya, just would rather have a discussion about the good stuff on the board than ANOTHER string to stir things up. How about we hold a civil discussion, you and me, right in the middle of this string. People might forget about re-igniting the string that already got halted long ago.

One thing I like about these boards is when someone needs to go they are told "See Ya" right up by most members. Haven't seen the need for that in this case. I cast my Florida Chad as a STAY.

Just to be different...I vote "Don't let the door hitcha!"

But seeing as how I haven't voted since Clinton defeated Bush Sr., I doubt I have much pull.

Heck, Beer throwing, face punching, hair pulling and name calling is just another Saturday night in Texas.LOL My band played a beer joint one night, they fed us, paid us and then entertained with a massive brawl. When the police showed up they were helping each other up and mumbling, "Just another Saturday night in Pasadena!"
