I just read the complete thread
http://www.cigarbid.com/...geDisplay=0000000011651 I am, frankly, amazed. I have smoked cigars regularly for over forty years and participated on internet cigar BBSs since they were simple list-serves.
It has always been paramount to the success of any BBS that the comments and contents stay on the board. It is incredible to me that one forum participant e-mailed another's place of employment with what appears to be a clear attempt to discredit the other person's integrity, and that the owner of the BBS did not ban the participant for sending those e-mails, immediately.
Arguments, even rabid flaming, are a good measure of more than one cigar BBS, but the flames stay on the board. In the past, an act such as this would have resulted in shunning as well as an immediate ban; no trades, no herfs, no trades.
I am not personally familiar with either of these gentlemen, other than having read a few of their posts. Their political and social opinions are of no consequence to me regarding this issue. I am quite certain I would have some common ground with both of them.
Attempting to jeopardize another participant's employment because you have a disagreement on a cigar BBS is not acceptable.
