Well, I would say that this link is very appropriate for this day. It reminds all of us of the realism of the dangers in the world and the job the military must do. I had already retired from active duty by 9/11.
I remember waking up at 10am by a call from my brother who told me to turn the TV on. Pushing that button on the remote started the most horrible day of my life.
It is so hard for a retired military person when something like that happens. I walked around for days opening closet doors, waiting for the phone to ring. I think my military mind was searching for my combat gear and a call to assemble.
But, I had to sit that one out. It hurt, I wanted to be unleashed on the people or animals that did it.
May God bless those in harms way tonight. Also, may God bless their families who are worried. Give them strength to face another day without them.
