What's funny is they say the customer was using "excessive bandwidth" but they don't define what that is anywhere in their AUP. They go on to say, "it's whatever we think is excessive". And oh, by the way, excessive use may be caused by file sharing, news groups, streaming applications, etc... Basically, what you use the Internet for! What a crock! Cable companies actually expect people to pay for this service? Hey, you can't use too much data, if you do, then you're busted, and we won't tell you how much is too much.

Yeah DSL is the bomb. I just signed up for a 1.5 mb line for only $69.95 a month! That's a freakin' T-1. And I don't have to share it.

Comcast just boosted Chicago suburban bandwith for free. I'm guessing it is in prep for a boost in rates! I am now getting 2.5meg for $42.95 ($19.95 for first 6 months).

AJ, you're getting 2.5meg serial speed, not throughput. If you exceed some arbitrary bandwidth number that they don't tell you about, you'll get a nasty gram like the one from the link above.
