PO' FOLKS ROMANCE 101
well, guys, i've got about $5 to spend for valentine's day. but i've got the best wife in the world, and a heart overflowing with love for her. and it doesn't cost much to be creative...
she's getting a small box of her favorite chocolate (the $3 size of lindt's dark chocolate truffles -- guys, get these for your women!!).
i'll make the card myself on the computer and pouring out my heart in the words.
$2 gets two roses from the florist -- one red, one white.
that takes care of the basics.
i'm making her a cd of romantic music taken from what we danced to (or i tried to dance to LOL) at our wedding. if i'm able to, i'll ask her to dance in the living room to "our song" when it comes 'round.
aside from that, i'll have a bottle of champagne chilled and ready for after dinner -- the special honeymoon bottle we didn't get to drink on our wedding night because we were both totally wiped out and already drunk on love anyway. :)
i'll present her with the red rose and the lindts chocs while making my entrance for dinner; we're dining at home, but i'll be dressed up in my most dashing attire (yes, including jacket and tie; it's romance day -- suck it up! lol). and i'll also wear (just a little; don't marinate!) of the cologne i wore when i met her for the first time.
she's making my favorite meal (a ham/potato casserole we call "crack-arole" because it's so addicting). it's not the fanciest, but it is by far my favorite -- the one i'm always begging her to make.
after dinner, i will lead her to the master bathroom for a luxurious bath -- i'll have another cd of her favorite soft classical music playing and lit scented candles surrounding the tub.
the bath will feature water at the temperature she likes, a handful of bath beads and a sprinkling of rose petals (from the white rose).
after that...................... nunna ya' bizness. :)
... and if you're REALLY broke, just skip to the nunna ya' bizness part! ;)
