Gee thanks but.............!?!?! People actually bought those things and I remember Cigar Aficianado or Smoke had full page ads for this "doll"!??? Charlie

When I was in grade school I got this little plastic dog that was about an inch and a half long. You put the little cigars in its mouth and light them up. After a few seconds of smoking these the dog would blow smoke rings.

Actually it was pretty cool but I can't imagine the uproar it would cause today if this was given to a 10 year old.

Big Tony, if you want to see what one of thee gems (MR Smoke) looks like I found one on page 227, of Smoke Magazine Fall 1997, the one with Alec Baldwin on the cover! Shaped like a cigar with legs and arms and looks like a boxer or something from on the docks! Thank God, I got rid of that thing! Charlie

Shortly after the birth of our first, my in-laws came to visit. After dinner one evening my mother-in-law handed me a small package, wrapped in newspaper. When I opened it I found a 5-pack of Hava-Tampa Jewels. I didn't smoke cigars or anything then because I had quit during the pregnancy and sworn an oath not to start until the kid was in college (a promise I kept). I looked at her and said, "Thanks, but you know I've quit smoking." "But I heard, "she said, "that you said I was a 5-cigar mother-in-law." Well, I had said. And I still don't know who told her I had. But I've been a damn nice son-in-law to her since. And she's been a great mother-in-law.

mhollowa: What's the "5-cigar mother in law" reference? I don't understand it. Thanks in advance, Joe.

Tailgater: A 5-cigar mother-in-law gets on your nerves a lot more than a one or two-cigar mother-in-law.
