fat fingers... I have 10 PRC Double corona, and 20 PRC Rothschilds. The Rothschilds are a little dry since they've been aging for 9 months, but should perk up nicely with some increased humidity. Email me if your interested in a trade, I usually prefer medium-strong maduros. [email protected]

say c - i grabbed a box of prc roths about a year ago after nibbling from the cigar shop. i luved em from the shop, yet the first couple grabbed from the box were too young (i hope). is that your experience with these prc? what rh to you maintain for prolonged storage? i'm in chitown and 58-65% seems to work well for the sticks in deep hibernation. for me 70% is the ceiling - and those sticks seem to need to be relit, sometimes repeatedly, when their time comes.

delarob - They've been around 65% to help aging, I'm actually slowly raising the humidity right now and they're looking and smelling great!!

busdaddy - I had the exact same experience with the prc roths, and the added aging has helped them a lot! I currently live in Denver where it's dry as hell so the aging part was easy. Maintaining humidity is much easier with my new coolerdor so I plan on keeping it at 70% in order to keep my individual sticks perfect, and by keeping my boxes closed they automatically have a little lower humidity, which is prime for storage. I would never go below 65% for aging, any lower and you start to lose some of the oils in the cigars. I would make sure your hygrometer is properly calibrated if 70% is requiring constant relights.

c - good point I hadn't considered. Time to freshen the humidifiers with 50/50 solution.

That may help, but I'd check the calibration as well.

I picked up a box of Pitas about a year ago. I thought they were good out of the box. I still have about 5 or 6 left and had one about a month ago. The aging really improved them. The wrapper was dark and oily and the smoke was exceptional. Am looking forward to my next one.

That's how the doble coronas are, but the roths don't seem to be as dark or as oily, and they were'nt when I bought them. They still smell the same and taste good but they look completely different. I thought it was a little weird... chris
