Doing some bidding and thought I'd get a rating before buying the whole box. I found this review in a well respected cigar rating magazine:

A bumpy cap covers this cigar, which has an easy draw. It's peppery and slightly tart, with a note of meat. Medium to full bodied.

Is it possible that a cigar could taste like meat? My question is was it Pork or Veal

I've had several different cigars that left an aftertaste like I had just eaten a good steak.

I kind of liked it ...

"A Note of Meat" ... boy, that brings a lot of thoughts, some amusing, none originally my own ...

At the risk of being accused of plagiarism ... not long ago in another thread, one of the guys said he'd never tasted leather, chocolate, or any other of the subtle "hints" one sees mentioned in reviews ... all of his cigars, he said, tasted like tobacco and he liked it that way. I've gotta agree.

But some guys I know ... CWilhelmi being one ... have some pretty highly developed palates and are able to taste subtlety I cannot ... I don't question their ability, but I'm not sure I envy it either ... I'm pleased to have never tasted pencil lead in my cigars.

Slim mentions an aftertaste similar to a good steak ... I've smoked cigars that could I could almost say "yeah, me too" about, but to be honest, I'd never have thought of it first ...

Best of all, though, came in an e-mail I got from Huskey the other day ... he was speaking of his young son and said the boy often sniffs cigars as they arrive ... sometimes he comments that "this cigar smells like our horses stall" ... but those he says "this REALLY smells like our horses stall" are the cigars Huskey likes best ... (forgive me for telling this story, CH ... I couldn't resist!) ... I think that kid has a real future in the cigar reviewing business.

The closest I've come to that is a cigar that tasted like spaghetti. Maybe it was oregeno. All I know is it made me hungry.

i can taste spice and maybe cocoa and pepper some times but that's about it; however, in every cuban i've smoked, they almost all have that "twang" in the finish...

Hey Mean, that wasn't oregano, and that wasn't a cigar. Boy the 70's have been hard on you and they say the memory is the first thing to go. LOL :)- :)-

Mr. Mean sometimes people tried to pass off bags of parsley for the smokes you are talking about.

So thats what they mean when they say "this is a meaty cigar".

Hey Kenny You sure you didn't try to lite up a hot dog?I did that once. But I was pretty bombed.

I tried to smoke hash in a pipe once..........I couldn't get the potatoes lit and the corned beef just burned.

I tried to smoke a ham once
