Herfing Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off at TSA also, they specifically said that tattoos would NOT be visible when using the full body scanners - LIARS. Long story, but back in 2000 I had a Britney Spears "Toxic" tattoo placed on my right cheek after a drunken weekend in Vegas. This past weekend while going thru the airport screening, the overweight TSA lady hands me my stuff after going thru the body scan, winks and starts singing "ooops, I did it again" as I'm walking off.....bastards!

The best time to fly was right after 9/11. There were nothing but business travelers and the National Guard manned the security checkpoints with orders to shoot morons. (I would like to believe they had those orders)[quote]

I still see pairs of National Guard in combat fatigue, patroling airports with semiautomatic (and/or possibly automatic) combat rifles- with their fingers next to their triggers at all times.

Not the military. Maybe SWAT, bomb squad, border patrol.

I haven't seen a rifle in a US airport in years. Rifles make the flying public nervous.

What airport?

No way I'd ever want to fly out of Frisco anymore...what with guys going through the grope line four or five times each, it'd take forever

Yeah, I remember flying out of Los Angeles not long after 9/11, and saw the same thing.
