Should we blame Obama like the mindless liberals blamed Bush?

It doesn't matter.

The media tells us what is important. I guess this doesn't matter? Seeing the price per barrel to gal now and then you would think maybe its worth a look. Corporations are only greedy when the R's are in charge.

blame anyone you want as long as you keep feeding the machine and blaming someone besides yourself.

If you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem!

Sell your car!

Buy a bike!

Get off the grid!

Think of the children!

Turn on and tune in !

Renounce the machine !

Embrace hemp !

Yes.

Because Democrats are the main cause for energy inflation.

That's part of my point here.
I'm glad that we DON'T hear folks blaming the president for gas prices.
It's just that the critics weren't so silent when Bush was in office.
Just one more fact that proves the right wing zealots are at least slightly more sane than the liberal left.

I wish it was only 3 bucks a gallon. It has been over 3 bucks for months here except at the occasional deep discount cheap gas stations

Debated this with myself the other day while standing at the gas pump:

Gas - just cost me $45 to fill my tank.

Beer - Just cost me $78 for a sixtel of Great Divide Hibernation Ale.

Which one will get me further?

Tailgater you were doing fine until you brought the right/left bs back into it. Making blanket statements that supposedly HALF of the USA enjoys these higher gas prices is utter foolishness. Come on man, look a bit deeper than what Fox is telling you.

It hit three bucks a gallon again today.

I guess this is Idi Amin Jr.'s payback to all his rich oil buddies. Its little wonder why Boy Wonder bowed down to the Saudi king and licked his shoes clean.

Why don't we have a 70 mpg car right now? Idi Amin Jr. already rules a major automotive manufacturer?

Where are all of the electric cars he promised?

Let's face it: people who voted for Idi Amin Jr. ended up voting for a Radical Muslim with strong Saudi ties, who is raping this country in order to make obscene profits for his rich oil buddies.

What happened to the

"If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention" bumper stickers?

My problem is barrell of oil price to gallon of gas. And the lack of consistancy to attention of this by the media. This isn't about D or R as much to me as another example of the dinosaur media.

ZRX,
This is not being covered so much because there is no money in it. I get my ass spanked on here daily for being a butthole, but in my own way, I'm just trying to get people to THINK. I respond in kind to how they treat me, and some get it, but most don't.

A couple weeks ago, I was on some rant about how the news networks lie to us to sell stories (I was using Beck and his anti medicaid bs, that is followed by free electric cart ads), and I got DMV so angry he just about blew the caps off of his beer collection in his oh-so scarily clean closet.

The fact is, nobody gives a crap about gas prices right now because the economy, for a short time is somewhat stable (No thanks of course to our dumb president....and I say that only to shut DMV and potts up and hope they don't jack this post). There are much more important things to talk about on the news that the advertisers have told the networks to talk about. I used to date a gal that did advertising for a major network. Not so much "when" ads are run, but rather WHAT the story is, was what most of her clients were interested in.

Blow up your tv.

Peace.

Don't ignore the point of this thread.

And I'm not sure why you fixate on Fox so much. You seem to get off on deflecting any opinion that differs from yours onto a single television news network.
It is well past boring at this point.

Jpots, come on you know dam well where the electric cars are or are not and why... Certainly not his fault, they are coming in there oun time as the market and tech develop.

We all knew as the economy improved so would gas prices... Been $3 + here in S. Florida for a while. $3.18 across the street as of last night.. But it's 80 degrees and sunny outside, so driving without the top along the beach seems to make the price of gas not so important...

My wifes Lease is up the end of April, for the first time she said maybe we should look at a 4cly or Hybrid...NOW that's a change.

It's not complacency.
It's selective outrage.

$3 gas under GWB = being in cahoots with big oil.
$3 gas under BHO = market conditions.

yes!!!!!!!!!!! blame someone, everyone!

but seriously, look at how wasteful we are as individuals and as a government. i live in a small town of 10,000 people. We have over 25 full time city police, plus county cops and state trooper HQ. We have very little crime, just one low income neighborhood. Now we have a SWAT team and they drive tahoes around.... why??? seriously? my town doesnt even have a recyling program but we spend thousands on this garbage.

look how many people drive SUVs or trucks without any reason??? high schoolers and college students riding around in f250s, give me a break.

gas is going to go up and force changes in our lifestyle. in Greece, the farm repair techs drive little bitty bubble looking datsun trucks. 1.4 or smaller diesels. here, we have to have an F550 to change a tire for some reason..

I have a water well in my yard so I pull my own water for a couple cents a gallon. I'm sure city water is about the same. However, I don't have an oil well and refinery in my yard, so I have far fewer choices.

I used to hear the same comparisons when milk was actually more expensive than gas. Same deal - I don't need 30 gallons of milk a week to get to work and back.

Gas prices move with speculators and on what they see happening on the TV around the world. That, and plain old supply/demand. So much of it turning on how much of our own we drill and refine, which of course, we don't. Nothing like we used to, anyway, in relation to our current need.

And I still actually had to listen some dope in the cafeteria a couple weeks ago lecturing everyone on how "the Republicans are back in Congress and the gas prices have gone up." Really? You really, really believe that, don't you? You really think the first thing they did was have a secret meeting to "jack up the gas prices", don't you?

d'oh!

I agree with you there! White knuckled wheel holdin' at 25 mph on ice burns a lot less gas than 75 mph with the cruise locked on a fine Summer day.

To the tune of the Sammy Hagar song.. "I can't drive... 75!!!!!"

Maybe we can make gas out of hemp. It'll solve the world's problems . It is the worlds #1 food source after all (sorry, I can't spell primere... maybe hemp will help my spelling).
