My son was born in the Philippines. He was born off-base before my wife and I got married (for shame!). He has a US birth certificate that I got at the US Embassy in Manila.

Obama's 'Hawaii' birth certificate is probably about as valid as that "dealer invoice" the salesman brings out when you buy a car. Not worth the paper it's printed on.

While I'm normally not one to believe in conspiracy theories, I'm going to go on-record to say that there may be something to this whole "birther" thing.

I've had a copy of my birth certificate since before I was married, as did my wife. Before that, our parents had validated copies of our birth certificates. We keep them in a secure place because - believe it or not - you can't do certain things without one...like getting a marriage license.

Yet this guy who is Ivy League edumacated, and been in politics for well over a decade doesn't have a certified copy of his birth certificate?

How did he get married to his wife without a copy of his birth certificate?

How did he get a license to drive a vehicle (as, according to his interviews during the campaign, he talked of owning American cars)?

I'm a frickin' nobody - I've got a frickin' birth certificate. I've had the same frickin' one since the 1970s.

Now let’s see…. Let’s weigh the balances. On the birther side of the issue we have this:

1. Obama’s father was Kenyan and the supreme court has already set a precident that to be natural born – as the constitution demands of U.S. presidents, both parents must be American Citizens.
2. Obama lived in Indonesia when that country did not allow duel citizenship, so his mother would have had to renounce hers and Obama’s, and once lost, natural born status can never be reinstated.
3. On Youtube are videos, including a BBC interview, in which Obama’s grandmother said she witnessed Obama’s birth in Kenya.
4. the prime Minister of Kenya spoke in a video on youtube of erecting a statue in Kenya to celebrate one of their own citizens becoming a US president.
5. During the election, rep John Richardson, a democrat and Obama supporter, called Obama “an immigrant” (talking about how rich America was with opportunity)
6. When Obama ran for congress in Illinois, papers reported him as being from Kenya.
7. In a debate for Illinois senate with Alan Keyes, when keys brought up that Obama wasn;t born in the U.S., Obama said, “I’m running for senate, not president.” (see the video on youtube)
8. Youtube video shows Michelle Obama at a function referring to Kenya as Obama’s home country.
9. Public court records show manifestly Obama’s lawyers fighting disclosure.

On the Obama’s defenders’ side of the issue we have this:

1. the ‘certificate of live birth” which proves nothing as anyone can get it, that the democrats rejected from john McCain, demanding instead his long form birth certificate as evidence.
2. Newspaper announcements of obama’s birth that would have been procedurally generated automatically upon request for the certification of live birth.
3. “Obots” mocking “birthers”

Now read all that again.

Only an idiot would be stupid enough to believe that there is nothing questionable about obama’s citizenship issue.

So, the "Certificate of Live Birth" is not valid proof of birth? Why? Because it is a summary of the info. on file with the Dept. of Vital Records, issued and certified by the Dept. of Vital Records vs. the actual certificate filled out by the Dr.? BS!

I have in the last few years completed two international adoptions. For those who do not know much about the process, it is a VERY involved process, requiring approval from the Dept. of Homeland Security and the Dept. of State, where you have to prove you are a US Citizen. It also requires a valid US Passport for travel. It requires approval of the foreign country as well, where the US Birth Certificate not only has to be a Certified Copy from the State, it must be verified and authenticated by the US Secretary of State.

Do you know what form I used to accomplish all of this? The "Certificate of Live Birth" issued to my by the State of California. If this is all I have, does it mean that I really was not born in Calif.? I am not a US Citizen because I can not produce a "long-form" birth certificate? All I have is the "worthless" piece of paper know as a "Certificate of Live Birth".

that worthless piece of paper was accepted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to establish that my adopted child became a US citizen upon completion of the foreign adoption and entry into the US.

Hmmmmm........... Maybe a "Certificate of Live Birth" issued by the state Dept. of Vital Statistics is actually what it claims to be --- proof of birth within the state that is accepted by both our federal government and foreign governments.

Now, I have 2 children who were born in a foreign country. As stated above, sometimes in life it is necessary, or at least very helpful, to have a US Birth certificate (passports, licenses, school registration,etc.). I was able to apply for and obtain a State of Idaho birth certificate for my foreign born children. However, the title of the document is not a "Certificate of Live Birth", it is a "Certificate of Foreign Birth", but accomplishes all of the same purposes of a "Birth Certificate". I don't really know anything about Hawaii's laws, but my guess is that they have a similar form for children of US Citizens who are born abroad vs. a child born within the state.


Like it or not, that "certificate of live birth" is legal proof of birth in the US. An authenticated copy obtained from the Dept. of Vital Records would be accepted any any court in the US as valid evidence of the official records of the Dept. of Vital Records.


BTW - I did not vote for BO. I do not like him. I do not think he is doing a very good job. I hope that he is not re-elected. I will not vote for him next time. So, my reason for dismissing the claims of the Birthers is not biased by my political leanings. The simple fact is he has produced and provided sufficient evidence and proof of his US Birth -- proof that is accepted by US Government agencies as valid proof of US Birth.
