On the 16th any time would work for me, i'm off that day or on the way back I dont think you will be here too early so it's your choice. if you stop on the way up you will have gars with you and Waco would be a good place to stop, pee, and get gas.

Great idea Mikey, should look great when you're done. Can't wait to see the pictures as you go along. I should've thought of something like this, seeing that I'm in Michigan and everyone and their brother has a gun cabinet! LOL.

I will post several pics. This is the before pic posted, will have an "in progress" soon after the cedar arrives, then shortly a " finished and full" pic. Navy Chief, will send you a PM of where I got the cedar.

My wife might schitt but since it is getting cold I might be working on it in the house. I think it would be better too build it in the temperature it will be kept in because of the wood expansion and contraction and I plan on haveing the cedar somewhat seasoned before it gets attached on the cabinet. I will probable be cutting the wood outside because of the dangers of the sawdust but construction will be inside.

Seasoning wood has the same level of passion about it as aging cigars. I build guitars and most of the time the wood I use has been in my inventory for about three years before I touch it. I'm looking a gorgeous piece of birds eye maple and another of walnut right now that are probably just about ready to be turned into a couple of necks. The date tag I put on the boards says I picked them up in April of 07the. :)
