Let me make absolutely certain that I am clear. If one does not know, for example, what the acronym LGBT stands for and doesn't bother to look it up on Google (or elsewhere) when they come across it and wonder what it means, I believe they are ignorant.

gnorant - uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication; "an ignorant man"; "nescient of contemporary literature"; "an unlearned group incapable of understanding complex issues"; "exhibiting contempt for his unlettered companions"
nescient, unlettered, unlearned
uneducated - not having a good education
2. ignorant - uneducated in the fundamentals of a given art or branch of learning; lacking knowledge of a specific field; "she is ignorant of quantum mechanics"; "he is musically illiterate"
illiterate
uneducated - not having a good education
3. ignorant - unaware because of a lack of relevant information or knowledge; "he was completely ignorant of the circumstances"; "an unknowledgeable assistant"; "his rudeness was unwitting"
unknowing, unknowledgeable, unwitting
uninformed - not informed; lacking in knowledge or information; "the uninformed public"

Well then touche, as I have no need to know what it means as it is irrelevant in my life your ignorance falls under meaning 3.
The assumption that I care enough about lesbians, gays, bi-sexual, transgender.. or is it transvestite, still not sure on the Q though, to Google an acronym for it. You obviously were ignorant of that fact.

I would say that in your line of work it is imperative to keep up with this kind of thing, but I choose to keep myself ignorant then as it has no place in my life or those I choose to interact with. Say what you will but I have my convictions and stand by them.
A little side note, I am not alone on this. They just had to install a third bathroom in many state buildings here at taxpayers expense due to the fact men and women were uncomfortable with those in transition coming into whoever's restroom. These transitions or what ever they are called are also payed for by the taxpayer. Once again a few freeks running the system a muck.

I don't think that's a fair assessment.
One can "wonder what it means" without really caring enough to google it.
Further, I think during the course of a conversation, it's perfectly fine to wonder "out loud" at a silly acronym that is added to a story without the author defining it.

It is common practice, and good judgement, for an author to define terms that are generally considered uncommon.

Just my opinion.
Your mileage may vary.

Bill Maher calls Sarah Palin a c*nt.

Rush Limbaugh calls Sandra Fluke a slut.

What's the big deal?

Oh, wait, this is the Left we're talking about. Diversity and Tolerance only works in their direction.

You can't make this stuff up, Neo.
You also can't surf the channels without some misogynistic nutcase denigrating Palin, Bachman, Maulkin, Ingraham, Coulter, etc.

Just another example of "indignant" media hypocrisy & manipulation.
Having said that, the cocky Limbaugh does for the Right what smarmy Bill Mahr (sp?) does for the Left.

Considering her penchant for transgendering ops, are we sure Sandra isn't "Sam"? or maybe she/he was Sam and is not Sandra? Wait, I'm getting confused here...

Fact is, in all seriousness, what we have here is a case of a child who was not strongly yet tenderly Fathered. Sad.

$3000/yr for birth control?

That’s $8.52/day. $2/condom = 4+ condoms per day. She’s getting Fluked, on average, over 4x/day? WOW! The little muffin must be pretty resilient.

4x/day… and you announce on a national stage… boy, I bet her parents are really proud.

(Where does she find time to study? I’m sooooo jealous)

What I’m trying to figure out is… 4.26 Flukings/day…

Does that mean 4x with an “average” guy and one with “the Irish Curse” or 3x average guy and one well endowed? Maybe it's not as bad as we think... maybe 2x/day with a John Holmes?

What if she has a headache? Does she double up then the next day? How about during "that time of the month?" She really has some catching up to to then.

It's a real (cough) head spinner.

Along the side of the condom.
I once wore one and was amused to see an ad for Budweiser.
Once I slid it on, it prominently read "Whassup!" across the length.

Of course, both my lady friend and I were extremely dissappointed to learn that it actually read:
"Whassup! Beechwood aged Budweiser. The King of Beers"

d'oh!

She was invited by the Dems, for a show-hearing that was all Dems.

Our president is so saddened by this all. Thought of his daughters and how they'd feel if this happened to them when they were expressing their freedom of speech.

Looking forward to the press conference where Obama announces he's giving Bill Maher back his $1 million donation because of his past history of referring to Sarah Palin as b-word, c-word, and ever-popular t-word. Not to mention his weekly assaults on Christians. I'm guessing he wasn't thinking about his poor, sweet daughters as he was cashing that check.

Anyway, this is all doing what it's supposed to do. Keep this minor issue high in the spotlight and on all the mainstream media all day every day. Great mis-direction from the trivial issues such as gas prices, jobs, the Middle East, devaluation of the dollar, the ever-mounting debt, welfare fraud, our swiss cheese southern border, etc.

I'm not sure that come November, however, Obama will be able to punch it over the goal line with with ads like "Don't forget I did that Bin Laden thing" and "Vote for me - Because we both agree Rush Limbaugh is fat" .

Here are the true facts in response to the above:

Neither she nor her testimony were brought before Congress. The Dems on a committee wanted to hear her testimony. The Republican chair of that committee would not heed their request. So, she spoke in front of some Dems. That is all. No legislative testimony by her in this matter. None at all.

I just started looking in to the substance of her speech. She said that birth control *** could*** cost a woman $3k over 3 years. That's $1,000 per year- or somewhere around $80 per month for an uninsured woman. This doesn't seem outrageous to me at all, given the true cost of RX meds that most insureds simply are not aware of.

Some health insurance plans do NOT cover birth control pills. Those that do overwhelmingly require an insured to pay a co-pay of, say $10-50.

The Reps see this issue as one of church v. state while the Dems see this issue as one of women's' fair access to health care. Given the circumstances here, I think both are 100% right.

I believe the "double standard" is aimed at the media response, not the undeniable fact that BOTH are unacceptable.

When Maher (repeatedly) disparages Palin, it's discussed on internet chat forums.
When Limbaugh attacks Fluke, the mainstream media is all over it, and he loses sponsers.
Not because the sponsers feel he went over the line, but because joe-public is being told that he went over the line, and the sponsers don't want to be caught in the backlash.

Side note:
I'm not a big Limbaugh fan.
Sure, he can be funny. And he hits on a good point every so often.
But he's not entirely different from a dozen or more other conservative jocks.

Truth be told, I think more liberals listen to him so they can get their daily dose of outrage.
I hear more liberals complaining about him then I do conservatives boasting.

Of course, this may have something to do with me living in Massachusetts, where you couldn't hit a conservative even if you swung a 10 ft pole at a church bazaar.
