wow! I immediately thought of a 90's band from Arizona (I have two albums) but never heard of this Swedish band with the same name.

Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, George Jones and all of the great old time country artists. Today country music is dead. Nobody filled their shoes.

Every genre says the same thing...Music is dead. The problem is CWHOREporate Radio. It's forumaliac and they play the same garbage on every call sign in every town at the same time. You listed some greats, but there is great Country music still being played today. You just haven't found them yet. Some have been mentioned on this thread.

Billy Strings
Colter Wall
Dave Alvin
Kacey Musgraves
Kurt Vile
Pokey LeFarge
Ryan Bingham
Shooter Jennings

This is jut off the top of my mind right now and I'm sure I've missed a lot. All of them are still making great Country music that you'll never hear on your radio. You need to get out and immerse yourself into the local scene too. That will help broaden your find.

Got the chance to see them Saturday. They rocked the room down. Not every day you get to witness a band that has the chops to re-energize genres and whip them with their own special sauce.

"Glass" from the same album

https://youtu.be/WHhODypLuCw

"Family Trip" from the same album as well.

https://youtu.be/gOpK7RDC1Q0

Brie Deux made her case for overturning the Deborah Harry power structure. If you've wanted to hear what Joy Division, Gang of Four, Kraftwerk and Blondie would've sounded like if they started now...GO SEE THEM!

Plus...they're really nice people! Nice to see a Tampa local band get theirs!

Band of Gypsies (Hendrix, Miles, Cox)
Always LOVED this band. The live recording of “Who Knows” is a fuqin classic.
His guitar work on that song is amazing…….just a simple bluesy melody…..but listen to it a few times…….amazing for 53 years ago….

Very short lived trio……think they only played 5 gigs, (4 at Fillmore East, one at MSG) recordings from which were used for all the album.
Contract issues forced Hendrix to crank out the album, and rumor has it there was a bit of a power struggle continuously with Buddy Miles…
Hendrix’s agent was an idiot in all this as well.
Bummer…….Hendrix died not to long after the famous “break up” during the early part of the show, at MSG.

I liked Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Black Album, Load, Re-load... I tolerate And Justice for All... and don't really like any of the others.

Can’t remember the last time I put this on and just sat down with my speakers getting a light workout. Used to really enjoy using my Koss Pro 4AAs to space out to this album.

Not really a fan of the show but followed the journey of a “priced out of Paradise“ contestant on American Idol this season. Felt his heart from his audition and pleasantly surprised as he kept moving on. Never thought he’d make it to the finals but rooted for him to come out on top. And he did! Congrats to Iam Tongi for his big win!

I'd forgot that American Idol was still a thing. Used to watch it with the family. It was rigged though. There was one season that had multiple lesser known Broadway performers on it. What happened to Jennifer Hudson was a real travesty. I mean it turned out okay for her in the end, but she came in 3rd when anyone paying attention to the show knew she was the real deal. Stopped watching after the Adam Lambert season, because I could call it from a mile away.

Hopefully this platform gives him his audience. He's guaranteed a year of touring and a record deal. Other "losers" used that year to springboard themselves.
