We complain but few do anything due to lack of $$$, time, etc. What recourse do we REALISTICALLY have?

After voting for Romney this time, I will probably go non-political & continue to flirt with survivalism per Jamie's post.

You're gonna vote for Obamney? Seriously? Do you honestly believe he is any different than Obama?

Voting for anyone other than Romney is a vote for Obummer, like it or not. He may not be the best choice but no other person is going to have a chance. We may only be putting a tourniquet on but we need to at least slow down the bleeding. We seen 3 1/2 years ago what feel good votes get ya, we don't need anymore of that nonsense.Brick wall

Tell me how you and the 42 other people voting for RP is gonna matter. Sure I wish there was a better candidate but the way the system is set up we only have two choices with a chance. Right now it is more important who is not in the White House the next four years than who is. If you didn't like his first term you really believe his second will get better ?

Think

You all know RP was THE better candidate and listened to what the media told them to say.

So....you have this decision to make.

The Kenyan King cannot be trusted with another term. THAT much is a given.

Now it's about blotting everything that jackwagon did...one line after another. If Mittens and his 13 wives cannot be do the job then we bounce his sorry ass too!

That's the whole point. We cannot stand around with hands in pockets playing pocket pool & oopsie daisie while debating who's the mythical perfect candidate. The idiot in charge cannot have a second term to further dirty the waters with cronyism, useless legislation, and left wing judicial appointees while he espouses brotherhood worshiping at the altar of "Reverend" Wright.

Sit on your hands or waste your vote if you like. It's a win-win for you. Obam wins, you continue to whine. Romney wins and doesn't steer away this Titanic economy away from impending doom, then YOU are REALLY screwed but you can blame those who didn't vote for Ron "Don't Call Me Harold Stassen" Paul. If Romney wins & succeeds at turning around the economy, then you can suckle at the teat while you cry yourself to sleep reminiscing how much better things were under Reagan...

Looks like it's Dubleuhb, Jack, possibly DMV, me, and the 300 going out to meet the self-proclaimed, caramel-colored, golf-playing, all-knowing, godking Barak and his jabberwocky sidekick, Joe Empty Bidet at the Gates Of Hell come November.

At this point, I would be happier holding a lottery and awarding the job of president to a random citizen.

At least I'd feel like there was a minute chance of getting someone with an ounce of integrity.

You would like to think that...
The problem with most people is that they are corrupted by power and greed, so you would just be trading one lot of experienced racketeers for another that will learn/grow with the job.

The only solution I see are term limits for PART-time politicians with "regular" jobs and mandated balanced budgets.

Yes, just keep voting for the same bunch of revolving idiots, as if constantly switching back and forth between Democrats and Republicans is going to make any difference at all. Meanwhile they're all high-fiiving each other behind our backs and living large. " Things are bad when party A is in charge because Party A is in charge, and things are bad when party B is in charge because party A was in charge before!" "We totally screwed up your country/state/county/city, but if you vote for us again, we promise we'll fix it this time!" Politicians, unions, and big business executives, all loving those pensions and golden parachutes, while we get stuck with higher taxes.

You're all a bunch of dupes.

Political morass- No solution will truly work in our society at this late point in the game- if ever. The rise and fall of a nation is inevitable- although I do not believe we are in "the final" decline, but instead just a dip along the way (likely downward).

Economic recession- Wait it out and then get ready for the next one while the economy booms. Tamp down on spending. Generate increasing tax revenue by cutting certain taxes and raising others- if that will really even work. Other than that, the next time we have a boom, try to remember the tough time we came out of and install greater austerity measures, which won't happen. Or, pray for an enormous war or catastrophe that will require the world to buy from the U.S. and then ramp up real fast. I know- I am dreaming...

And, if any of you think that it is a political party or President that could ever materially change things over the long run, I disagree.

Another four years of Obama and it WILL be the final decline of this once great nation. There is a point of no
return and we are getting alarmingly close as we speak. Any farther down that road and there will be no turning
back in my or most of your lifetimes........

I voted for leaving the country, going to somewhere in the Caribbean.

Belize would be cool but you'd have to hire a small army to protect your stuff and hope one your guards doesn't sell you out... not much law enforcement there and people tend to just take what they want.. including homes... Mellow

I think you are giving Obama (and any President) too much credit. Presidents just don't have the type of societal influence to make or cause such immediate major change (other than perhaps in their role as Commander in Chief).

Besides, how can anyone even accurately predict "the point of no return"(whatever different that means to each of us), in advance of it actually happening? At best, we can each guess. My point is that one cannot know that a "point of no return" has occurred- until long after it has passed- and one can objectively look back to pinpoint when "it" occurred. There is no known formula. Hell, we probably cannot all even agree what the determinative factors/variables will be.

On the other hand, if one is so certain of knowing what and when it will all occur, they have plenty of time to plan to come out on top.

As to going to the Caribbean, its a great place to take a vacation. Where do you like the best?

Stink, they'll have to trot out a Reagenesque candidate. Otherwise, I'll be walking away from the political process if Obama's re-elected- which looks very likely especially after they step up the attack on Romney's Mormon Bishopry, his cheating at Old Maid, and tearing labels off his baby mattresses.
