Anyone have an idea for a drink to pair with the Cu Avana Punisher?

I am fully aware the punisher is going to be a spicy full bodied powerhouse. what goes well with a full body stick like this? Think

If it is as bad as the cu avana maduros i got from cbid, cyanide would be my choice.

J/k

A good spiced rum like capt morgans private stock or some booker's with a few cherries would go nicely!

Try a good bourbon. Very few cigars don't go well with it. Woodford reserve, gentleman jack, and so on...

Always try every cigar with a good cup of black java........................I think you'll be amazed at how some cigars shine when paired this way.I'd say about 80% of the cigars I've found I like over the years have been disected with this method. Some flavors I would've never ID'd other than side by side with coffee on a clean pallette.

The cigars tip is laced with habanero oil right?

Your best bet corona with a lemon.

+1 You cannot go wrong with a great cup of coffee and a cigar.

Also, try a nice smooth liqueur (i.e. Frangelico, or 43). The sweetnes helps to balance the flavor of the cigar.

For liquor pairings I like a nice single malt....My go to of late is Balvenie Doublewood.Coming in at a very close 2nd is George Dickel #12 followed by an entire host of bourbons.

Tonight I'm going to pair up some 1792 Ridgemont Reserve(bought after a friend gave it HIGH marks,it'll be my first go round with this bourbon). The stick to be named at a later time. But I'm thinking something Pepin(nice and peppery) or an H.Upmann Mag 46(buttery smooth).

I agree with whistlbritches. I don't drink much of anything with cigars because I feel it keeps me from tasting the cigar but I do love some java with my smoke!

That sounds delicious! You cannot go wrong with a single malt scotch. I love DPG's, but the Magnum sounds great. I just smoked a Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve with a cup of bold joe.

Tabasco? That will offset the burn from the oleoresin oil that is on the end. A friend gifted me one and I haven't smoked it because of the horrifying reviews. And I LOVE spicy. Please follow up with how it goes.

I just finished it and it was simply OK. I went with the spiced rum as a drink. The first third is very SPICY!! not just a spicy tingle on the lips but spicy smoke. The retro hail on this is 100% pure SEARING SPICE. Its not a black pepper spice like you find in a lot of pepins but its like a jalapeño spice flavor. I really enjoyed the first third but after that it dies down in the spice department and its just earth and leather until the nub. I picked up a black licorice a few puffs here and there throughout.

After the first third it gets boring until the end.

I think everyone should try it bc its so different.

smoking time was about 1 hour 30 mins

Pretty strong in strength as i got a good nicotine buzz going and had to slow down
