Because under the current system, my latest greatest quote is 1800.00, with 5000.00 per person. A crap policy at that. Oh, and that is per month. If it aint broke dont fix it. Its broke!

So the righties answer is that we should make due with crap, or less insurance. At the same time we will be paying twice what the average mortgage is per month? At least Obama tried to tackle this problem, which is more than anyone else has, or will do.

you can blame the Dems(Ted Kennedy) for this...

They forced HMOs down our throats 25 yrs ago,
This is the result..

Health insurance companies should be not for profits, that would cure a lot of the ills in the system.

Hmo's were designed to bring down the costs so the middle class and below could afford insurance.

Before HMOs
people had " Hospitalization Coverage"

Routine Doc visits were cheap because people paid for them, perscriptions as well etc.
As you said the average family policy now is $900 a month. Why not get a caatstrophic policy and pay out of pocket ( Health Savings Account) for the ocassional visit to the Doc.

Dry wall companies should not be for profit, and all workers should get minimum wage. That would help cure the ills in the housing market. In fact it should be this way with all construction. Everyone should have the right to live in a spanking new home, not just those rich bastids who can afford them.

You could vote Obama because hes not anti tobacco/ anti gun/ pro Mormon agenda. Living off interest from "good investments" in offshore accounts, so he only pays taxes on what he draws off it.

Or not.

Dpnewell, most drywall companies would qualify as Nfp for the last 5 years, and hourly workers get approx what wages were in 1980, thanks to Pedro. What do you do for a living?

As for the ills in the housing market, you take the five million people out that didnt deserve the American Dream, and you just have to wait for them to drop far enough for the rich to buy them at pennies on the dollar.

Well were too busy in Oregon paying for PERs retirement bennies for gov't workers to worry about peasants who actually make things not involved in gov't contracts.

DWD living wage jobs have been attacked by both sides for different reasons.

It was a tongue in check reply, sheesh, dude. You libs all the time say that one industry or another shouldn't be allowed to make profit. Oil companies are evil because the make a profit. Banks are evil because they make a profit. Now you're saying that insurance companies should not be allowed to make a profit. Then neither should your industry. You want to be able to dictate who's allowed to make a profit and who's not. Typical liberal selfishness.

Oh, and by the way, I own a small contruction company, so don't cry to me the blues about being NFP and taking low wages. I've lived it far more then you have over the past few years, all thanks to that dickweed you helped to elect.

Judging by this thread and from the media...you vote for the Empty Suit because you want something for free.

Remember when we elected leaders to actually lead?

Now they have to have this entire parade of free candy...pony rides...longer recesses...oh and healthcare now!

Gimmie a break.

A government that gives you everything..can take it ALL away.

SLAVE MENTALITY!

You actually thought healthcare costs would go down with Obamacare?! I suppose unicorns will be picking up the cost of the 20% that were uninsured!

That is the general pattern yet in reality those actually under the Cone of Protection turned out to be a small select few. People will continue to vote for the Empty Suit thinking they'll get under the Cone this time around.

It is quite laughable while sitting here inside the Cone looking out!

I cannot begrudge Romney for taking his money offshore to minimize his tax liability, if what he is doing is perfect legal. So far, no one has pointed out that it isn't...

While I do not believe it is right for a government to push beyond a minimum wage (to prevent usurious pay), I personally think that trying to pay my employees a "living wage" is important- provided that I get paid first. It is not only a moral and gratitude thing, but I have found out that it attracts better and more responsible employees- who value their jobs and are more productive.

Rfenster I agree. Had a pro at the local country club tell me (I worked there in highschool) "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys".

I don't like minimum wage as a concept.

Devaluation of the dollar has killed living wages much more so.
