Actually what is different is 5 trillion USD in debt under the first Obama term and an additional 5 trillion USD in debt under the second term and the hope that our creditors will keep loaning more money.

I heard the same things during Reagan yet was smaller but everything is relative

Someone in here said that the end of our times was determined in 1800s or something like that I don't remember

And hopefully the wars will end because that was stupid because we could have looked at the Soviets and figured that one out

I don't know maybe everybody inheres right and everything is horrific and The end is near.

Or maybe it's about to hyperbole and nonsense. I still believe our best days are ahead of us. Call it blind faith I don't think it's that but whatever makes you feel better.

I tend to think the decision between Obama and Romney is not a fulcrum for our success or failure.

But that's not as much fun so we're all going to die!

You're probably right about that those two not being deserving enough to matter about our longterm future.

However, on the rest, you might be less shrill & bombastic if you had to pay yourself a paycheck or have to scratch a living working 40- 60 hours per week for a struggling company... No slam on what you've achieved with the Government (just sayin' that there's a real world out there).

I've been there blood and started down that path again. I am deep in the exploratory path towards a business option ahead of me that would make me the dole proprietor of an interesting business venture.

Why is disagreeing with doom and gloom shrill and bombastic. Sounds like jumbo shrimp to me.

Part of what makes it shrill and bombastic is that your solution is "hope" things aren't on a bad course.

It is not good when "hope" is part of a long range forecast!

You've mentioned that you still believe our best days are ahead of us. You have nothing to base that on other than hope.

Are you basing that on the fact that the country is on the right track? Are you basing that on the fact that the country is on the wrong track and will magically "wise up"? Are you just hoping it is true?

I hope it is true but sometimes you have to bet on "don't pass".

I humbly request that you accept my apology. Based on your version of what I think I am wrong. And for that I apologize. I will look at myself nekkid in the mirror as punishment. I will even lift up the skin flap and look at it.

I am so ashamed.

Nor is it good when long range forecasts, or things like decisions to go to War and spend trillions are based on hyperbolized predictions of doom promulgated by those who stand to profit most from the ensuing fear induced in those they are fleecing. And better yet if you don't raise taxes directly to finance those wars and you just borrow the money, you get to claim you're the party that's protecting the public from the greedy hands of the government because you correctly estimate most of them are too stupid to realize that they will be taxed in the form of inflation, diversion of funds from uses that may actually benefit them.

I'm not saying we are doomed, I'm just saying I don't believe we are on the right path with Obama. I believe our country may be headed in a direction that none of us will like. Frankly, he has truly done nothing good for our country yet and I can't imagine that changing with another four years.

When all of this comes to fruition four years from now, I'm sure the Conservative House will get the blame. Shall we take wagers?

Well, if there is any chance of deficit reduction, there is nothing like four years of tax hikes to get 'er done.

Their whole plan is just taxing the rich, oh, and gutting the military. There's no way in hell that would put a dent in one weeks worth of money the US needs.

The simplest solutions include reducing welfare & food stamps, but that's what got him re-elected. That's not going to happen, either.

I really hate the suffering the folks in NY are going through, but if things get really bad, and we all go off the cliff together, then it's going to get ugly. Real Ugly.

I like 8Track's Redneck 401k plan.

You better Redneckognize !!

6,125 Proposed Regulations and Notifications Posted in Last 90 Days--Average 68 per Day

(CNSNews.com) – It’s Friday morning, and so far today, the Obama administration has posted 165 new regulations and notifications on its reguations.gov website.

In the past 90 days, it has posted 6,125 regulations and notices – an average of 68 a day.

The website allows visitors to find and comment on proposed regulations and related documents published by the U.S. federal government. "Help improve Federal regulations by submitting your comments," the website says.

The thousands of entries run the gamut from meeting notifications to fee schedules to actual rules and proposed rule changes.

In recent days, for example, the EPA posted a proposed rule involving volatile organic compound emissions from architectural coatings: “We are approving a local rule that regulates these emission sources under the Clean Air Act (CAA or the Act),” the proposed rule states. “We are taking comments on this proposal and plan to follow with a final action.”

Another proposed rule will provide guidance for FDA staff on "enforcement criteria for canned ackee, frozen ackee, and other ackee products that contain hypoglycin A." (Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica; unripened or inedible portions can be toxic.)

Some of the proposed regulations revise regulations already on the books.

The website also links to a video of a speech President Barack Obama gave at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 7, 2011, in which the president promised to remove “outdated and unnecessary regulations.”

“I've ordered a government-wide review, and if there are rules on the books that are needlessly stifling job creation and economic growth, we will fix them,” the president said.

A number of groups, including the Competitive Enterprise Institute, expect a rush of new regulations now that President Obama has won a second term:

CEI expects the EPA to move ahead on delayed rules on everything from greenhouse gas emissions to ozone standards. “Rules from the health care bill and the Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill will also likely make themselves known in the weeks to come," the group said on its website.

In the coming four years, our platform is simple – After a much needed break over the holidays, we will lower our intake of fat, sugar, and animal products. Eat fresh minimally processed foods. Take long walks together and watch the conservative right lose their pea pickin’ minds.

Of course we have yet to make it to the Bahamas . . . . .
