Throw out Sarkozy and elect a socialist with promises of free stuff.....one year later back in recession and break the record for unemployment.

"France has fallen back into recession, the national statistics agency INSEE said Wednesday, after the country’s GDP dropped by 0.2 percent in the first quarter of 2013 following a similar fall in the final quarter of last year.

France entered a shallow recession in the first three months of the year as the economy contracted by 0.2 percent because of weak exports, investment and household spending, preliminary data from the INSEE statistics agency showed on Wednesday.

The data - which marks France’s first recession in four years - is further bad news for the Socialist government after the number of jobless people hit an all-time high in March."

Socialists everywhere always bleat the same mantra when their wealth redistribution policies fail. They claim that:

1. The wealthy avoided paying their fair share of taxes, thus depriving the government of sufficient funds to fully implement their socialist agendas
2. The socialists simply didn't have the political capital to legislate adequate redistribution policies to sustain growth through redistribution of wealth.

In the USA you hear 'the greedy rich don't pay their fair share' refrain and cries that the Republicans are foiling the altruistic legislation needed to stimulate the economy by taking wealth from one segment of the population and giving it (in exchange for votes) to another.

Socialism never works well for very long. As Margaret Thatcher accurately observed, the problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money.

Maybe cruise through Detroit some time, preferably after dark and admire how well spending other people's money has worked out when there isn't any money left to redistribute.

Dad, the problem is that socialism (and even slavery) is unavoidable when avenues of revenue for the middle class are cut off by Government mandate. So, in effect, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy and a way for Big Brother to maintain full control. This is what's happening here. Europe is our caged canary. What happens there will eventually happen here.

But what is there to worry about?! As long as we have our circuses, keep the borders open, the drones a'hummin', and finding wars to fight we'll be A-OK!!

France will have another Bastille Day before the American welfare low lifes take the teat out of their mouthes. France will become another world power when America can't pay the bills for a military base in every nation anymore. France will be recognized for doing what it's citizenry want before the Constitution is restored to its former glory...word for word...not some interpretation or judicial ramrod job on the public.

Just sayin...We had a good run. The planet was better off with the USA at the helm. Now, we're the bully in the playground. We're going to be the bull in the ring. The bull never wins in the end.

Get used to it. As all of the goodwill the USA has built, in the last 40 years we've pissed it all away to be the World Beat Cop. We could've had college educations for all, mental institution that did their jobs, high speed rail, high speed internet in every home and a host of other niceties that other modernized nations enjoy. Instead we gave despots an endless supply of cash to be our friends, Olympic sized pools of gold to nations that spy for us, and corporations the head chair at the dinner table while our Republic was for sale by a select few that wanted the trough for their own snout. They were only doing it for themselves. They didn't care about their legacy or leaving anything for the future generations. They wanted it NOW and they wanted it ALL.

Congratulations France. You'll figure it out and mess up 20 other times while America comes begging again.

It is an unfortunate reality and we're still trying to start two more wars. A Global Force for Good.

In order to inspire confidence and lend some credibility, we should think of a catchy name for the campaign.
Something like , 'The Greater Middle Eastern Co-Prosperity Sphere'

In related news, French males are stricken with 'French asthma' and can only catch their breath in snatches . . . .
