It's pretty lame. Thank goodness I'm not 16 anymore; otherwise I might actually think that girl has some talent. Brick wall

So many crap songs to choose from, but this 'musical' abomination has got to be at the top of the list:

"from the brilliant 1971 avant-garde album "Fly"

Yoko Ono- Don't Worry, Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her Hand In the Snow)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swG6Rry9Tss

Forget water boarding, play this screeching assault on the human ears loud a couple of times and even the most battle-hardened jihadi would be p*ssing himself and begging for mercy.

This song makes me want to stick pins in my ears. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_OGARBe6W0

Worst POS that is constantly played on the radio. At least Yoko and some of the others listed above are seldom if ever played on the radio.

Funniest thing ever said about Elvis Costello... “Music journalists like Elvis Costello because music journalists look like Elvis Costello" - David Lee Roth

The one song that comes to mind may be relivant to those with kids.

"What does the Fox say"

I dont know why this became a hit with my kids and their friends. I have heard it over and over and over and over and over.

No kids here. But I do consider it (with the video) to be a great piece of work. Comedic genius, maybe.

As to the other songs listed in this thread....except maybe the Yoko and ABBA stuff, none would be any where near top of my 'worst songs' list. Many of them are pretty good music, in fact. Blanket damnations of Elvis C, Stones, Springsteen? Really?

They're a number of artists that I can't stand, but I recognize something in them and give a bit of credit; John Denver, Barry Manilow, ABBA, Carpenters come to mind.

Something like "We Built this City" is easily justifiable as a Worst Song - not only does it have zero redeeming music value, some of the artists involved have been key to some incredible music: Bernie Taupin, Grace Slick....they should have known better. This was a kick in the nuts coming from lineage that produced Surrealistic Pillow, Red Octopus, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.....

Or, Ebony and Ivory...another disaster from artists who should have known better....makes me shudder just thinking about it.....I almost wonder if Paul and Stevie were just f'n with us

I know I'm going to get backlash for this but I'm going to say just about every song BOB DYLAN has done. He has a few but come on he doesn't even sing he just talks and calls it singing.

Nimoy.
Now we are getting into the realm true awfulness.
I submit Mrs. Miller's rendition of "Downtown".
It brings me back to the carefree days of my youth....

(runner-up: "My Pal Foot Foot" by The Shaggs. What it lacks in production value it makes up for in atonal dissonance. It is, quite frankly, in a class of it's own.)

BTW- both of these gems were committed to vinyl by artists with a vision. They weren't doing it for a goof or dreams of big $$$. They truly believed in themselves.

MacArthur Park -

That was the dumbest song ever....sorry guys but think about the lyrics:

MacArthur Park is melting in the rain, all the sweet green icing flowing down.
someone left the cake out in the rain, I don't think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again....Oh no.

Yikes!

Many lyrics of that era were obviously chemically inspired.
