Benny Goodman. At the Carnegie Hall concert in 1938 members of his band were, Gene Krupa, Harry James, Lionel Hampton, Jess Stacy and Babe Russin to name a few. We're talking players her boys!

Surprised there aren't more for The Eagles. They could all sing and play multiple instruments. Damn shame they didn't stay together longer!

If its any consolation the Eagles are my second choice.......and only by a very narrow margin.

Most people will respond by giving their favorite band.

My favorite band over the years is the Who. And they're arguably one of the best regardless of how you measure "best".

But I'd have to say that the Rolling Stones deserve the title as "best".

And as much as I like Zep, their inability to play anything live drops them out of the top 10.
Rock and Roll shouldn't be confined to the studio, and zeppelin is gawd-aweful to listen to on stage.
This doesn't diminish their ground breaking music, or the Page/Plant synergy. It just removes them from contention when discussing "best".

The Beatles chose not to tour.
Zep should have followed their lead.

Pretty much agree with this post --- it must be Christmas.

Eagles
Boston
Guns and Roses
Metallica
Led Zeppelin
Nirvana
Poison

I could go on and on the Eagles would probably be the one that I love the most. So many more that I love to hear.

I don’t really get into too many “greatest” discussions since, kinda like Mathen said, without parameters, it becomes more like a popularity contest influenced by recency bias. With that being said, for reasons I’ve stated in another thread, I feel that the Beatles were rock ‘n roll’s greatest group.

I would have to agree with that. Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, and The Who. Top 4 greatest rock bands in my opinion. Not my faves, but simply the greatest
