My older brother took my father's Browning 9mm pistol into high school because he had to give a demonstration speech. He demonstrated how to disassemble and clean the pistol. This was ~ 1978. Wasn't a big deal. He went to his locker got the pistol right before the class; gave his speech and then returned it to his locker. I believe he got an A on the assignment. How times have changed in such a short time. WTF? WTF; I say?
Back in the late '70's and early '80's when I was in high school one could walk through the parking lot at high school and see more than their fair share of shotguns and rifles hanging on gun racks in pickup trucks. There were lot's of us who would get up early and go hunting on the way to school.
How times change though. About two weeks ago a kid rode past an elementary school on a bicycle 5 1/2 miles up the road from where I went to high school with an airsoft gun, a knife and a hatchet. Someone called the cops and he was thrown in jail and charged with terrorizing.
