Not a king, or kings. If so, we would all know their names. Allow me to introduce you to a term; oligarchy. It is rule of the government by a selected few. I suspect that for most of our history that has been our letter of rule. Cite Wilson putting the Federal Reserve in the place if you like. Not communisum. Not socialism. Just the Koch brothers and their ilk behind the curtain.

Yes, because the Koch brothers can pass legislation all on their own and have it enforced.

(Hint: only politicians can do that.)

Oh, and the board Federal Reserve is nominated, and approved by...whom?

It always amuses me when pseudo-intellectuals think corruption is a river flowing in one direction. It's more like a stagnant pool. And stooges like you are easily convinced that drinking from the pool is a good idea.

Stooge seems to be a favorite word of dummies. The Koch brothers own legislators/politicians.

Why jpotts, my old friend. Prunes brought you back from the crypt have they? Glad to see your posting are as “regular” as ever….

You do have me on a technicality, the Koch brothers cannot pass legislation or enforce it – that’s what their lackeys are for. Yes, lackeys. Just like you.

And the Federal Reserve is privately held banking cartel. The members of the board being approved by the Senate does in fact lead a number of uniformed people to believe that the government has control as though the Fed where a branch of government. But it’s not. And they don’t.

To your credit though, corruption is not a river flowing in one direction – it is a rising swamp in a flood plan.

If you think enough about it, communism might just be better than conservative religion or at least less warmongering.

You need to be able to distinguish communism from dictatorship. You didn't think about it enough.

Seems like you are ignoring facts to make your point. Both governments were Communist.

There is no real communism - it doesn't work with most people.

I've heard of them... aren't they usually populated with dope-head hippies, who don't mind sharing things, as long as they can focus on getting hopped up on dope?

Don't get me wrong, I got nothing against pot... I just don't like sharing my stuff. ram27bat

Communism and democracy share a common problem. You really can not make them work on a large scale. While our nation is based on democratic principles, it is actually a representative republic not a democracy. And both approaches fall victim to the golden rule. Seem all of us the world over tend to agree to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain".
Iron curtains notwithstanding.....

And while religion serves a vital purpose, it too suffers from a few taking charge and advantage. And leading us wars, crusades, jihads, or not being able to buy beer on Sunday.

I think the theory of communism is a crock. It is just too far a field from human nature to work. Democracy has a better shot at it, but how do you manage greed? Socialized capitalism?
Oops, I said the "S" word....

communes, hard working non hippie communes, have been critical in the development of Israel over the decades, They have blended that bit from socialism in with their capitalism quite successfully.

Perhaps what never works is dogma of any brand.
