It's a supplemental exercise only. You really still need to go to the gym for the weight training. :)

If you think that was fun, you may need more help than the homeless guy. It appears you may be nothing more than a bully.

So what would your actions have been? I'm really open to suggestions on how this could have been handled better. I may disagree with them ultimately (or agree with them ultimately) but I'm definitely open to suggestions.

As for the fun... everyone needs a little excitement in their lives. Running head first into an unknown situation can be fun and exciting. Sure there's a potential risk, but seriously... that's what makes life worth living.

If I know I have to do something, if the situation appears to have only one viable outcome (granted, didn't sit down and ponder it for an hour, so I could have been wrong), then you do what's necessary and you do it in the manner that will give you the most entertainment. (Sort of the same philosophy I have with my posts on cbid).

But, it's 12 acres, one neighbor, quiet, quiet, quiet. Pitch black at night. Private as can be. Outdoor naked type of private, and I couldn't be happier. Can't wait to start landscaping, cutting wood, etc. etc.

And, no homeless.

I'm with you frank... I was about to go over an punch jet just for being homeless if you didn't clarify things...
That gave me flashbacks to the crack-whores taking their pants off on the sidewalk...

that was a close one.

Because knowing this crowd, I figured a post discussing the homeless, the mentally ill and self defense (loosely speaking... in sort of George Zimmerman school of self defense...) that somewhere along the line it would turn political.

I'm surprised it stayed as non-political as it did. You know, what with the free loading and entitlement projects supporting the dog stompers in this city... :) And if it weren't for the damn gov'ment I wouldn't have had to go beat on him, I could have gone to the corner store, bought a gun and shot him where he stood like any other red blooded american.

Very few can justify beating-up on the homeless, comparing it to Zimmerman, and still feel good enough about it to brag on a cigar forum while blaming the guberment for their actions.

.... where did I blame the government?

You can call me a thug if you like, I don't particularly care. But I do find it really funny that your solution would be to call the police.

Is your problem with this because he was homeless? (I'm assuming he was... ) Because that issue makes no sense whatsoever... we aren't talking about a 1 legged vet, we're talking about some 30 year old, larger than average guy.

The guy physically attacked the gf's dog while she was 1 foot away from it. If someone came up to your gf/wife/whatever and did damage to property she was holding (took her purse, ripped her shirt, keyed her car... whatever)... would you just sit by and let them do it? And that's not even getting into the depravity required to attack an animal unprovoked, that's just looking at it from a property point of view.

I'm sure you would have been pleased as pie with yourself if that had happened. Of course I didn't know, I assumed I was going to at least get stabbed when I ran into it.

Do you let something like that influence your actions? Sounds like a bit of a weak way to go through life... deciding to do something based on whether you think the person has more firepower than you or not.

Everyone knows they're born homeless and destitute.

Was the dog on a leash? How do you know the dog didn't snip first?

No, that's just common sense. If you were wheelrite, would you go picking fights with 6' 250 pound guys? Standing up for yourself is one thing, asking for a beating is a whole different animal.

If that homeless guy was intimidating enough, you wouldn't have done what you did.

You don't really understand sarcasm do you?... you realize that was in the same sentence where I was demanding all corner stores sell firearms to purchase and shoot people on site... right? or did you just focus on the 3 words you wanted to see and ignore the rest of the sentence? Yeah... thought so.

The dog is always on a leash. The gf specifically had moved 3 feet over when she saw that guy coming because she thought he looked a bit sketchy. Do you think I wouldn't have mentioned it if the dog had done something? That's sort of an important detail.

History does not necessarily bear that out to be true.
I can think of at least one instance where I went chasing a car down the street, with every intention of damaging either the car or the occupant(s) (they had thrown some sh%t out the window at me and my friends). When the car got stopped at a light, and I started to catch up and noticed at least three heads in the window, I figured I was going to get my azz beat instead. I still kept chasing after them, I just expected to lose. I got lucky in that instance, they panicked, made an illegal turn to get away from me... right in front of a cop.

I don't always make smart decisions... but it can be exhilarating.

Was the dog in his house, or has he taken up residence in the dog's bathroom? I think by most castle laws, the dog is justified in shooting him.

edit... I just reread it and figured out what you were saying...

I understand now. You'd pack a .45, stomp on a dog, and then shoot the dog's owner when they come after you. Got it.

Your solution is ridiculous. I live in 400sq feet of apartment. An 18lb sh@t-zu is more dog than I want to live with at all. A larger dog would suffer from lack of space to exercise.... like to see you're thinking though. The solution to a guy abusing your dog is to get rid of your dog completely... If someone takes your parking spot, are you going to get rid of your car?

A 400 sq/ft apartment?

Dude, my Infiniti and my wife's Caddy enjoy more living space than you. And the homeless out side are rabbits from the golf course.

Of course, I am deprived of the opportunity to kick the mentally compromised homeless. So I guess there are trade offs.....

Yeah... and your living space is in a city I don't want to live in. Or it isn't in a city at all, which makes it completely valueless to me.

I'd pay the rent I pay for the space I live in even without the opportunity to kick the homeless. That's just a perk.
