Frank, it is not hatred I feel and this IS the problem with the " printed word " we simply cannot convey properly the true way we are feeling about A particular matter. And to be absolutely honest....I don't think it's the " Party " so much that's the problem.....I believe the problem stems from the voters themselves NOT so much the candidates or their campaigns. If there was only a way to keep those who have NO IDEA what's going on around them or in the World from voting maybe we could stem the problem. We suffer from a largely Uneducated voting block in this country.....they no NOTHING of the issues and believe Everything their favorite candidate tells them to believe. The thing I find the MOST interesting is even after voters find that their candidate turned out to be a complete liar and a race baiting POS.....they won't change their opinion and would vote AGAIN for the same FAILED policies and principles...... just to keep from looking the fool I guess. And in the end I'm NOT sure why the R's lost to aPOS like BHO....once let alone twice, for me it's the same mentality the NFL uses.....if they have a bad season it's always the COACHES fault never the players. And I UNDERSTAND that is their job to bring that team to cohesion andmake them play as one.....but they CAN"T DO IT ALONE. Just like our candidates CAN"T do it alone, they NEED an INFORMED public to go to the polls....and it seems they're the ones " staying home"

Paul-
party affiliation aside, political philosophy aside, I. Q. level aside, even if I was totally aligned in lockstep with you, I recoil in horror at that sentence.

If you think problems are big now, try living in the one-party system that you yearn for. You have no idea what you just asked for believing it to be a perfect world. Frightening.

I for one, as a believer in our way of life, refuse to stifle the opposition in the very name of freedom.

Then reread THAT sentence.....it says NOTHING about a single party system!!! And no what's frightening is that you see nothing wrong with one party offering up freebies on the taxpayer to a bunch of ignorant people who only heard the word FREE.

All I wanted to do was post a joke, never intending the thread to mushroom into what it has. d'oh!

Learned my lesson, for sure.
From now on I'm sticking to cigars and non-political humor.

Trish . . . You may pull this thread with my blessing !

so here is THAT sentence. Perhaps you should reread it.

To prevent a chosen sector from voting because one has decided those people would vote incorrectly is an incomprehensible and distasteful suggestion, and contrary to our most basic ideals...regardless of one's political persuasion. Of course you disagree with those that do not share your vision or your view of solutions...they feel the same way about you. So would you accept it if they wanted to prevent you from voting?

Should I have assumed you want to stop those that agree with you from voting? Correct me if I missed the part where you would also stop voting among those that agree with you...hence a voting block of one minded people, or what I called a one-party system...basically we are splitting hairs.

I'm going out on a limb here but I think you are indicating that it's gayhomodemlibs that "have NO IDEA what's going on around them"...and that stopping them from participating in the most basic privilege of Americans may "stem the problem".

In summary, the overwhelming majority of Americans from every imaginable political stance are far more threatened by your proposed solution to the problem than we are by the problem you are fixing.

One more thing, I doubt you could cite one quote from me that indicates I believe in giving freebies to ignorant people.

I just can't help laughing at the completely un-ironic posting of this.

TCBY want's to restrict those who have "NO IDEA what's going on around them or in the World" from voting... He's worried about an "Uneducated voting block"...

I feel like the irony meter may explode.

I will just say this:

It is wrong to tax a working person almost to the breaking point, then give it to a person who is able to work, but refuses to.

This is what is happening. It is because of the liberals. I am not an unfeeling man, I help people when I can. I do not appreciate being forced to help people. I do not appreciate a government who taxes me, to help others, and doesn't do a halfway decent job in vetting the NEED of the people it chooses to help with MY MONEY.

Pick your party, pick your poison.

I am a FISCAL CONSERVATIVE to the 10th power... but a social liberal.
