It's not a joke, some ass named Briannasucks started a thread about him paying well for aged cigars. Went on to say that the local shpos protected him. Maybe someone can find that thread, I tried and couldn't. That thread started the whole shpo thing.

I know that you don't like to be quoted, so I didn't. This is in reply to the book that you posted above concerning Raygun.

Are you implying that he was a lying POS and that this country would have been much better off if Hinkley had been a better shot?

I can't imagine ever wanting anyone to be shot dead.

I do believe that people at that time who wanted his policies to be right helped create the teflon president image. they refused to believe what they could see. They loved the tough John Wayne type cowboy talk after what felt like a less than macho 4 years of Carter.

They believe he scared Russia into "taking down that wall" when in fact he spent them into the poorhouse militarily. I've already covered the money being loaned out capriciously that then trickled up with interest.

Face it, would any other president NOT be ridiculed if he/she said to Congress "I don't recall" about a renegade arms dealer living in the basement of the White House? Or blowing up checks and balances?

However, no administration is all good or all bad, his was not an exception.

138 members of Raygun's administration were convicted of crimes and Ole Dutch didn't remember any of them.

Frank, you said that you can't imagine wanting anyone to be shot dead.

What about Hitler in the early 1930s, Stalin in the 1920s or Lenin in early 1917.

There are exceptions to every rule.

I expected to be asked about certain monsters...and I can not now say if an answer today would be the same at another point in history, or under certain personal situations either. I am definitely capable of wanting it emotionally if the unimaginable happened to my family...

wrong thread anyway.
