Teddy my bud, I must confess that I really like Victor too.

I hate to put us back on topic, but is there any fire to the smoke that is building around this little vacation? Was Scalia just another dirty handed power wielder?

And do we need a code of conduct and oversight of Supreme Court justices. One would only have to bribe 5.

It's too bad McConnell couldn't take Scalia's place.

But I don't believe the Constitution supports allowing a candidate that is under FBI investigation for not only her unethical practices as Secretary of State, but also for the unethical practices of her "non-profit" foundation. Ironic that this is the same person who has a reputation of unethical practices stretching all the way back to Watergate.

Yep, that's just who we need to nominate the next Superior Court Judge. Might as well put a fox in charge of the hen house.

Keep rationalizing a position that doesn't square with the constitution at all.

I think Scalia did his country a great service - by kicking off. This guy was ultra right wing conservative that wanted to take us all back 200 years.

Hopefully with a more balanced SCOTUS we will have less conservative tyranny and less erosion of our rights.

This is great news!

Wonder how you'd fare if you were actually exposed to some real tyranny instead of the tyranny you like to think you're being subjected to. I doubt you'd last long. Like the Bundy gang...oh crap, forgot to bring enough trail mix to the revolution.

I'm not so much praising Scalia's death as much as I'm praising the benefits his death confers in giving the nation an ever so slight respite from the assault on freedom that his positions consistently supported. He was a total political partisan who rationalized "originalism" as long as it supported his uber reactionary views.

I do not mourn his passing in the least. The world is a better place with one less person like him in it.

Again making the point.

And to your "point" about Scalia's "assault" on freedoms, the democrats are the ones who take away our freedoms and take away our liberties.
When you vote democrat, you vote for "The Man."

FORCING Obamacare (and not through regular order either and against the will of the people) on everyone was done by the democrats. Democrats love to rule and pass bills constantly to take away freedoms and liberty.

I seem to recall it was the democratic administration using the IRS to target conservative groups and take away their freedom of speech.
I believe democrats run the universities and are also limiting speech with "speech free zones."
Countless religious freedoms are infringed on by the party of "The Man."
The 2nd amendment is always in the crosshairs of the Democrats.
The federal bureaucracies (think EPA) are packed with leftists that pass edicts that are considered law that take away yet more liberty- unconstitutionally for that matter.

- But you just keep dancing on Scalia's grave

Sure, Citizens United, is all about enhancing freedom and opportunity for the common man. LOL. Revoking VRA too. Going all un-originalist to overturn the Florida supreme court and appoint W president, that worked out well. Scalia and his Opus Dei reactionary buddies had no interest in upholding the constitution. If it was up to Scalia, he would've overturned the Emancipation Proclamation.

I do dance on Scalia's grave and I welcome your hatred.

to the Cit. United point, lets go to the Constitution, shall we?

"Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

That damned Constitution!!! Limiting the lefties attempts on power!

Oh yes, the Bush didn't win conspiracy. More ridiculousness. Probably a 911 truther as well.

If you don't think the left in D.C. (this includes establishment RINOS - i.e., John McCain, McConnel, Boehner) limits freedoms and liberties more than a conservative, than you are either ignorant or you are lying.

.and I don't have hatred toward you, more like pity.

No, Scalia was single minded and narrow visioned. He held that the letter of law was more important than justice.

And when was justice ever as simple as a rule?

And why would you not embrace LGBT?
Does your singular vision of morality dictate it?
Did your god tell you not to?

BTW, the SC is supposed to provide justice, not the will of the people.
As sometimes the people are bigoted....

If you want justice go to a church and pray for it because the courts aren't in the business of dispensing it. fog

T-ball's whole argument is basically to take what the republicans faults and say they are the democrat's faults. He is too stupid to even see what he does. Democrats are the ones defending the first amendment and fighting racism, not the repubs. It's no wonder he supports candidate mostly likely to be the anticrhrist.

The democrat party is the party of racism, segregationists and the KKK.
History backs that up.

Look at all the regulations in large cities, that are run by democrats. Look at how the teachers' unions and democrats are bound together whenever anyone suggests allowing school choice for the benefits of students. Democrats clamor for tax increases constantly (thus taking property away). Taxes on tobacco are largely suggest by dems.

If I don't support affirmative action, you will claim I am racist, where I will say that every person should be judged on the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Isn't it more racist to assume that a person of color is not as "able" as a white guy or a white owned business and therefor standards need to be lowered to allow equality?

But you have your platitudes that you will just keep spewing.
