Gene... Do you really think I'd care if they put Reagan on our currency?

Unless some new reports come out that he liked to molest children or something, IDGAF...

What if they were homeless children?

According to the US Mint, "Native American" is not offensive.
---
The US Mint already produces Native American $1 Coins
http://catalog.usmint.gov/coin-programs/native-american-dollar-coins/?_ga=1.101288129.1721473306.1461301642
Native American Dollar Coins honor and recognize of the important contributions made by Indian tribes and individual Native Americans. The U.S. Mint is proud to offer The Native American One Dollar Coin Program with changing reverse designs each year and the obverse design featuring Sacagawea.

The US Mint also produced a set of bronze commemorative medals recognizing Native American code talkers to the U.S. Armed Services during World Wars I and II.
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/medals/?action=codeTalkers
On November 20, 2013, in Emancipation Hall at the U.S. Capitol, 33 tribes were recognized for the dedication and valor of Native American code talkers to the U.S. Armed Services during World Wars I and II. Of the tribes recognized, 25 were presented with their Congressional Gold Medals. Four additional tribes are eligible and will receive their Congressional Gold Medals at a future date.

The Code Talkers Recognition Act of 2008 (Act) (Public Law 110-420) requires the Secretary of the Treasury to strike Congressional Medals in recognition of the dedication and valor of Native American code talkers to the U.S. Armed Services during World War I and World War II. “Code talkers” refers to those Native Americans who used their tribal languages as a means of secret communication during wartime.

For the big coin collectors, there's the American Buffalo Gold Coin:
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/buffalo24k/
In 2006, the United States released the American Buffalo gold coins, its first 24-karat denomination, under Public Law 109-145, also known as the Presidential $1 Coin Act. The obverse (heads side) of this coin features an image of a Native American and the reverse (tails side) features the American Bison.

---

Counting Sacagawea and Susan B Anthony, that's 2 women that are already displayed on US currency. The smaller $1 coin was never fully accepted as a replacement to old, larger silver dollar. Being an Allman Brothers fan I've carried the same "silver" dollar in my wallet for over 25yrs. I also keep a dozen Native American $1 Coins with my hunting gear in case of emergency.

IMHO - "Native American" is the proper nomenclature. "America" didn't happen until after we raped them of their land.

Native American may not be offensive to the mint but it sure is with a few of the tribes I used to work with. What's the name of their museum on the mall?
