After making derogatory comments about Donald Trump she should step down from SCOTUS. Political comments from a member of SCOTUS unacceptable. No matter what her opinion is her behavior is deplorable.

She called him a "faker". Which is technically accurate and properly adjudicated.

Besides, Trumps openly slanders judges based on their race. You think they both should step down?

I think the Supreme Court is not supposed to show political bias. I cannot remember any Supreme Court member being so blatantly biased. Yes there are liberal and conservative members of the court, and I would want a conservative member to step down if they disparaged Hillary Clinton in a similar manner.

If Scalia wasn't as biased no one is but your right she should resign or recuse herself from any case involving trump . LOL that might make her semi retired as much as he's in the court .

I think her comments crossed a line that Scala never crossed. To my understanding he never disparaged a presidential candidate like this.

So a justice shows political bias - in an opinion - and she should be out.
But, a Presidential candidate shows racism towards a judge and he get a free pass....

Robert I agree. Not something she should resign for, but a statement acknowledging the lines they are supposed to stay within would be nice.

Even if he deserved it, it's unseemly of our supreme court to stoop to that level.
Now, "unseemlyness" is not exactly an offense I'd demand someone to resign for. And all the hand waving and bs is just a waste of money.

A simple "ya know, that was a bit unprofessional of me, sorry" would suit me.

I disagree. I think her statement was considered, deliberate and conclusive.

Don't see it a pot shot from an old woman. See it as adjudication for a Justice.....

The justices have no business making statements about individuals in that manner, there's a reason they have the canon rules. But apparently some voters are so blinded politically they don't care. Really pathetic.

Trump was wrong trying to influence his case by leveraging his position as the leader of the GOP, but that has nothing to do with Ginsberg. She is wrong. The he did it first or I'm rubber you are glue defense is silly.

In the Coded of Conduct it reads:

Canon 5: A Judge Should Refrain from Political Activity

(A) General Prohibitions. A judge should not:

(1) act as a leader or hold any office in a political organization;

(2) make speeches for a political organization or candidate, or publicly endorse or oppose a candidate for public office



So "should" is not technically a rule, but a guideline for preferred conduct.

"He is a faker," she said of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, going point by point, as if presenting a legal brief. "He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego. ... How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that."

Ginsburg's comments came in a previously scheduled interview related to my research for a book on Chief Justice John Roberts. I took a detour to raise the reverberations from her criticism of Trump to The Associated Press and The New York Times in recent interviews. "I can't imagine what this place would be -- I can't imagine what the country would be -- with Donald Trump as our president," she had said in the Times interview published Monday.

Trump responded Wednesday morning by calling on Ginsburg to resign.

"Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me. Her mind is shot - resign!" Trump tweeted.

As a nation this is what we get for not watering the Tree of Liberty.

We have become what we overthrew.

Perhaps term limits would solve this and many other issues.

Term limits work great for the President.
They would work just as well for Senators, Congress, Governors, Mayors, and Judges.
