PS.

I heard Hillary's looking for a good " clean up guy " to come behind Barry's disaster fog

Seems to me that the media has flung mud on both sides. But after a year of beating the Benghazi and E-mail dead horses they are running a bit low on Clinton material. She is after all a career politician with a reasonably good track record. Compare this to Trump – he was born with a silver foot in his mouth. If you want to trash talk him, just use a film clip from yesterday – He’ll have said or done the wrong thing. Hell, even the GOP is looking to dump him….

Well, he's already in Texas, and it's been documented that if you are going to play there, you have to have a fiddle in the band. So I'm thinking he probably brought one.

Trumps dad gave him multiple millions of dollars over the years (the 1 mil trump speaks of was a trust fund I believe). Ever wonder how much this money making machine would have made if he had simply done nothing but stick his money into the stock market?

Maybe he would still have enough that he wouldn't need a job now....

I'm not sure how accurate they are so I'm not ready for a film at 11 post but it looks like he may have made much more money had he done nothing...... which is his best chance at getting elected too.

Interesting story about his dad buying 3 mil in chips at one of his casinos and walking out the door never cashing them in to get around the law.

Opel absolutely I do. I hold politicians and public figures to a different standard than the average joe on many things as do some of our laws as trump will find out if he tries to sue for some things.

I hope what you mean is that you hold them to a higher standard, not a different one... but it's your life... your hypocrisy...

I dunno, Opel. I think higher means different. I certainly hold politicians to a different (higher) standard than I live to. I am okay with the hypocrite moniker....but, honestly, I'm not asking to represent and lead an entire population....if the litmus test if electing politicians with cbid member level standards...well....even Hillary is going to start looking good to some of us :)

Higher is different and yes in both accounts. As does the law.

A very different standard applies to public vs private figured. Just a fact.

It's always about the Johnson with you.

I'm suprised cbid doesn't censor Johnson given their fear of all things deke.

So what is it about the population you lead - wife, kids, family, friends - what is it about them that they deserve less character from you than they do from a politician?

I don't think higher means different... i think it means the same character level displayed on a grander scale...

I think when we expect our leaders to live to different standards than us, we get a bunch of people pretending to be squeaky clean but in reality just hide their true selves from the flock...

I would pose the same question to you... why does your family deserve less from you than they do a politician?

Also, can you give an example of a standard you don't or shouldn't have to live up to that a politician should? I don't know how to express tone in a forum post very well so I'll just say that really isn't a smartass question... i appreciate the dialogue on this subject....

I think maybe I am thinking of it from a different direction than you. What I am saying is a public figure opens themselves up to scrutiny private figures do not. Personally I would say things about and judge public figures much harder than I would say someone in here. They are fair game for things common joes are not in reality and legally. It is a part of putting yourself out there. Once you do, many things that once were not fair game now are.

There are many MANY expectations of public figures, particularly politicians I would never put on my neighbor, someone in here, or a family member. If what you say or do really has no bearing on me I'm inclined to live and let live. Politicos have bearing on all of us. So I guess I expect MORE out of a public figure than I do the common joe (me) as does the law. It's much tougher for a politician to win a liable case for example than a common joe. I don't expect you to provide your financials (not tax returns) to the public and have them scrutinized yet that is legally required of politicians. There are many examples.

They and their actions are judged by a different standard than non public figures and rightfully so. Sometimes it is harsher, and unfortunately sometimes they get a pass on things you would never allow your neighbor to do simply because some view it as a game and will look past a lot to have their team win.

TW - Gotcha... when i think of holding people to standards, i think moral standards... not accurate, just what i was thinking... and i do believe it's dangerous and hypocritical to hold politicians to different moral standards than the regular people of the country, but i could be wrong...

In terms of your first paragraph, i totally agree... in my zeal to make it into Jimmy Kimmels mean tweets, I've said many a horrific thing about famous people that i would never say to a normal person...

and i can't say i feel bad... it's what happens to people who are famous and that's why they make tons of money... They get to be rich and we get to steal their soul, life, and any chance they may have had at normalcy and happiness...

I think we agree.

Its the same reason photographers can get away with some of the things they do with famous people but never could with a shlub like me.

spectacular speculation and deflections aside, Trump has been extremely visible as the typical nasty kid in the classroom making fun of girls, the physically impaired, and others. There is no defense for that behavior.

Punching the bully right in the nose...that same advice ended a lot of problems for my daughter when she was 5 years old, and it worked for me when my father told me I had to make the bully's eyes water or he'd keep it up.

Don't muddy the waters and assume I am defending Hillary.

I could not help but notice that sence last week the "constant disparaging of Trump" is not so constant.

Have you ever noticed that he has really tiny little hands - like Chucky?
