Big Oliva fan here. The serie V is the only one I didn't like. Now the serie v melanio is a beautiful smoke

Olivas and Padron x000's are great but I could see how they're a bit overhyped, fuente and cubans too.

I'll go with the Cohiba Siglo Line. They're good smokes but the flavor, I feel like I can get the same out of a good dominican for the same price point.

Granted, I have only had 5-6 CC's, but all but one was overrated.

I had a RASCC from dstieger that people rave about but didn't find it very interesting. Wish I would have had it when I wasn't doing anything other than smoking a cigar rather than playing poker and drinking beer.

Years ago I loved them, bought them often.
Then ran into too many fivers that had a bit of a harsh edge to them, even after rest.
Still have a handful, but quit buying them some time ago.

Most of what I've had from DE.

Overrated IMO.

I've been disappointed with even the LPs that I've had. Stinger sent me one recently that was better than others I've tried, but in it's transitions, some spots were very good, others not so much.

I don't know... guess they just don't hit my pallet right for what ever reason.

id disagree
they are like $4 cigars and are pleasurable and consistent in that and even a slightly higher price range

if you expect them to be a $10 cigar then yes, i would agree that they are over rated in that regard

Feral Flying Pig

Friends made it sound like it was going to give me a cigargasm and then make me a sandwich.
Not so much. It was OK, and at that price, no thanks. Of course if somebody handed me one I'd give it another try as I've only had the one.
I've had the same experience with the other LPs as well. People really seem to like them and maybe unreal expectations did it in for me..

Apparently cameroon isn't feeling well today and is missing opportunities to re-name noobs.

Because most of us on this forum do not answer our doors for door to door salesmen and have never heard of the vacuum of the same name, is it ok if we call you Hoover?

I accept my noob name. I promise I'm not driving up bids. Except for maybe 5 Vegas Gold. I mean it has gold right in the name. How can one resist?

Can I call cameroon 'cāmtoosoon'?

DE seem to be masters at marketing and hype. I can get the same level of flavor and overall enjoyment from cigars costing a third as much, and they're widely and always available, too.

What those cheaper alternatives don't have is some ultra-cool, trendy marketing machine behind them headed by some NYC type all decked out in sunglasses and hip clothes plus ridiculous ad copy featuring stuff like calling a cigar "an algorithm" (REALLY?), but I can't smoke any of that, I can only pay through the nose for it and waste time hunting down constantly-scarce product, while other brands seem to have no problem keeping retailers' shelves consistently stocked with products of equivalent quality for a fraction of the price... so yeah, until someone comes up with a way to actually smoke a hip image, ridiculous descriptions and constant scarcity, I'll pass on the LPs.

I havent heard any hype on the interwebz, but my local shpo just recently got Regius cigars in and they were acting like they were the next coming of jesus. i can think of many different cigars at the $10 price point.

This is also the point where I learned to take everything the shpo owner said with a grain of salt.... "everything he has is gold and everything everyone else has is garbage"

Thank the lord its getting warmer here in Masshole nation so i can start lighting up outside!

Well I have very little experience with them...........as in, one cigar............that a botl from another group gifted me at a herf 2 or 3 years ago.
It was a 2013 Regius Orchant,...........big Robusto........and that's all I remember.......it was a darker wrapper, but not maduro dark.
One of the best, if not THE best cigar I've ever smoked..............spectacular.
I tried to get more, but the 2013s were gone, and the few that were left here and there were crazy$$$...........and I wasn't going to spend that on 2014 release not knowing if they were that good.

I am overly appreciative that I have been given another chance at the RASCC, due to the generosity of Youngra (I am assuming it is the same one...looks like it). Going to smoke this one while doing nothing else other than trying to enjoy it.

even though you unfriended me (sob), I agree with you.

Probably the most dependable cigar line anywhere, one after the other, year after year, just continues having the same ease of draw, the same flavor profile, and the same affordability.

Now, if someone just doesn't care for a particular flavor profile, that may not equal "overrated". Not when they just keep rolling out consistency for years.

To me the Padron x000 series is a pretty damn good smoke. The key is to age that sucker for a long a$$ time.

Personally I like LPs. The taste might not me complex but you sure as hell know you are smoking a cigar, with an abundance of smoke billowing out of the cigar.

I can't say the Olivia V's have me jumping for joy but they are a solid smoke.

On another note "cigargasm" cracked me up. Never heard that term before.

Anything in the entire BAHIA LINE UP...
AND THE ENTIRE GREYCLIFF LINE UP

BAHIA WAS supposed to be a BIG BOUTIQUE
SECRECT....KINDA LIKE GREYCLIFF RESORT CIGARS
IN THE BAHAMAS....

I REMEMBER "wayback" on the forum
"Mr. WIZARD" ( the president of Bahia)
Getting on the forum and threating to YANK his
CIGARS off this site....seems like it was all a
"HOT air threat " on his part....his feelings gots' all
Hurt like...to bad , most of his CIGARS suck....
Same with GREYCLIFF ( but At least they have a few
Good ones)

I just won some Bahia white label Connecticut Deluxe
Robustos last week ( to try and use for yard gars)
But man are they harsh, loosely rolled and burn all canoe like. I was shooting for the "buck a stick"
Price point but missed 40 for $45...
I may sell them at flea markets in
Five packs for $7.50-$10.00, if I can?

The John Bulls churchills @ 30 for $31.00
Are WAY BETTER THAN THE BAHIA C.D.'s

Bahia Deluxe are not great cigars, they are yard gars. The only decent low cost Bahia's is the Maduro line. Now the old Bahia Gold, Gold maduro and gold maduro white label cigars are quite good. I have many of them aging. Tried the new Bahia Gold box press and was not pleased - maybe after a longer nap. Haven't found a good Graycliff yet - heck I haven't even found one worth a buck as a yard gar.

Second...er...Third that.

The strange thing is the the very first Graycliffs I ever had were in a sampler from the Mothership and they were outstanding. I knew it wasn't really made down at the resort like a "real" Graycliff, but it was a really amazing smoke. Even gave it a great review at CI. That suckered me into ordering them again and, wow, blah, yuch and no-thank-you. On the off chance that I had an unlucky batch, picked up a single at the Superstore and same thing - lousy.

My other entry into this is Punch Bareknuckle. This is a horrible cigar but always gets featured on several sites. I am guessing its like the Last Supper in "History of the World Part 1" - "Push the Malt Wine"

Buy a bundle of Bahia Blus and forget you have them for a few years. They turn into a really nice cigar.

And yes, Graycliffs taste like nothing, unravel and flake themselves into self-destruction as you smoke, burn unevenly and MSRP for like $20 (but typically aren't worth $1). It's so bad that a major online retailer I'll call "The Opposite of Pacific" Cigars completely stopped selling Graycliffs some years back, and for awhile their Graycliff brand page was replaced with text saying that they're no longer carried because their quality is terrible and their prices are high. I believe the page is completely gone now though (along with the brand).
