“Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his "no reason to be alarmed" statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!”

Trump doubles down on taking London Mayor Sadiq Khan's comments out of context, making it seem as though Khan was playing down the deadly attacks on June 3 on the London Bridge and Borough Market. Khan said there is "no reason to be alarmed" about the increased police presence following the attacks. Khan condemned the attacks: "I am appalled and furious that these cowardly terrorists would deliberately target innocent Londoners and bystanders enjoying their Saturday night."

The drop in tourism is due to President Trump only partially.
The media angst is so incredibly outrageous that too many liberal nations buy into it as much as the drooling lemmings on this side of the pond.

The tweets of our President are still cringe-worthy on a daily basis.
But that doesn't explain how overblown the reports are.
I guess they know their audience.

Trump now insists that his immigration executive order is a "travel ban," and criticized others who used other terms to describe it. But this lacks context. “China will be allowed to build hundreds of additional coal plants. So, we can’t build the plants, but they can, according to this agreement. India will be allowed to double its coal production by 2020.”

This is false. The agreement is nonbinding and each nation sets its own targets. There is nothing in the agreement that stops the United States from building coal plants or gives the permission to China or India to build coal plants. In fact, market forces, primarily reduced costs for natural gas, have forced the closure of coal plants. China announced this year that it would cancel plans to build more than 100 coal-fired plants.

Trump is referring to concerns raised by White House counsel Don McGahn that staying in the Paris agreement would bolster legal arguments of climate advocates challenging Trump’s decision to roll back the Clean Power Plan, a flagship environmental regulatory rule of the Obama administration, and proposes to cut carbon emissions from existing power plants 30 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. According to Politico, McGahn raised concerns that the Paris agreement “could be cited in court challenges to Trump’s efforts to kill Obama’s climate rules. McGahn’s comments shocked State Department lawyers, who strongly reject both of those contentions, the sources said.”

Long before Trump became president, NATO had set a guideline of each member spending at least 2 percent of gross domestic product on defense -- by 2024. Direct spending for NATO is governed by a formula based on each nation's gross national income — the total domestic and foreign output claimed by residents of a country. With the largest economy in NATO, the United States pays the largest share — about 22 percent. Germany is second, with about 15 percent.

Trump certainly deserves credit for breaching the so-called “blue wall” — the Midwestern states that have backed Democrats in recent years. But Republicans have an advantage because they have an edge in small, rural states, which in the electoral college system requires fewer votes per elector. In Wyoming, for instance, there are 143,000 people for each electoral vote, compared to 500,000 in a state like California. Since Democrats tend to concentrate in large cities, the impact of those votes is dissipated. This is one reason that in two recent elections — 2000 and 2016 — the Democrat won the popular vote but lost the electoral college.
