Here's a comparison of selected public statements that were reviewed and fact checked for accuracy by PoliFact between Barack Obama and Donald Trump...keep in mind that Obama was president for 8 years, Trump has been in office for a little more than a year...

The PolitiFact scorecard for Barack Obama (8 yr):

True...................123... (21%)
Mostly True.........165 ...(28%)
Half True.............161 ...(27%)
Mostly False..........70 ...(12%)
False....................71... (12%)
Pants on Fire...........9 ...(2%)

The PolitiFact scorecard for Donald Trump (1+ yr):

True .....................22 ...(4%)
Mostly True............58... (12%)
Half True................71... (14%)
Mostly False..........104 ...(21%)
False....................164 ...(33%)
Pants on Fire...........74... (15%)

Trump has more than doubled (228%) the number of lies attributed to Obama in 1/8 the time. The totals are 342 lies by Trump compared to 150 by Obama.

The most astonishing of the numbers is the number of lies compared to the number of factual statements made by Trump: 69% alternative facts compared to 30% actual factuals,..giving him credit for half truths. Truly amazing and deplorable that some people have accepted dishonesty of this magnitude in our highest office...

Yes. you are correct drafter. Trump's claim that he is "the least racist person" is pure speculation as he has no idea what the racism levels are of the other 7 billion people in comparison to himself.

I'm glad you recognized that trump's statement can be nothing other than a pure lie, simply by the choice of words.

you're finally growing and learning critical thinking drafter... good for you.

There is a middle ground, where the truth usually exists. This resource does a decent job "scoring" the bias of many media sources:

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/

It gives a score for most sources of news from left to center to right with points in between. To be well informed, I find it necessary to check the sources, and trust those rated in the center to be most factual. This site rates PolitiFact in the center. It is comforting to all of us to hear stuff that reinforces our world view...but to be honest, we must step out of our comfort zones because "our side" isn't always right or truthful...unless your goal is to be as biased as you care to be...

This is a flip-flop for Trump. Before he was elected, he dismissed the stock-market performance under Obama as “artificial” and “a bubble." Moreover, the U.S. rise in 2017 was not unique. When looking at the Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index, it’s clear U.S. stocks haven’t rallied as robustly as their foreign equivalents. The stock market rose higher, on a percentage basis, in Obama's first year than Trump's.

Even Polititfact doesn't buy that. Truth is truth not determined by where it lands on who's scale.

Off-shoring of jobs has not halted under Trump -- and in fact experts say the GOP tax bill includes incentives to encourage companies to keep jobs overseas. The legislation fails to eliminate long-standing incentives for companies to move overseas and, in some cases, may even increase them, they say.

Trump, unlike many presidents in their 11th month, has signed major piece of legislation. When Trump issued this tweet, he has signed 96 bills, most of which were minor. That's fewer bills than any president since Eisenhower, according to GovTrack. That puts him in last place among the last ten presidents.

“As you know, we had the largest tax cuts in our history just approved.”

Topic: Taxes

Source: Remarks

Trump’s tax cut would be nearly 0.9 percent of the gross domestic product, meaning it would be far smaller than President Ronald Reagan’s tax cut in 1981, which was 2.89 percent of GDP. Trump’s tax cut, if enacted in law, would be the eighth largest tax cut — and even smaller than two tax cuts passed under Barack Obama.

This is an inflated number. Trump is adding all of the provisions in the tax plan that would reduce tax revenues paid by families to the government, but ignored provisions that would increase them, such as elimination of personal and dependent exemptions. When tax increases are included, the tax cut amounts to just $1.5 trillion.

Trump keeps taking credit for projects that were long in the works before he became president. Toyota's decision to build a plant in Michigan is a result of their focus on investing in electric vehicles. The company will still build a plant in Mexico to build a mid-size pick up truck. As far as other companies, Ford’s decision to abandon its plans to open a factory in Mexico and instead expand its Michigan plant. But analysts say Ford’s decision has more to do with the company’s long-term goal — particularly, its plans to invest in electric vehicles — than the administration. It’s easier for companies to find highly skilled workers to build new products, such as electric cars, in the United States than in Mexico. Fiat Chrysler's plan to invest $1 billion for a factory in Michigan had been in the works for more than a year and had nothing to do with Trump. Foxconn considered investing in U.S.-based facilities since 2014, though its initial plans to invest in Pennsylvania didn't pan out.
