What should I look for today?

I always look at hand guns and rifles, but I’m thinking today I’ll focus on the ancillary cool stuff.

Mossberg has a ton of accessory options.. I guess Winchester does too but I've seen more Mossberg stuff.. law enforcement seem to prefer Mossberg...

It's not a pistol grip but I keep a Remington 870 Express close to my bed...

Unlike you not everything to me is about presidential politics or black and white.

Yup. Going again tomorrow too.

The mossberg is on sale at Tree fiddy. Winchester 4. Winchester has some sort of shell holder on the side.

Water filtration system. One for home one for the go.

How's your bug out bag?

Do you have any kevlar proof bullets?

Portable water filtration?

My bag is cool. It’s smaller but on the fly small is good.

Best I have is gold dot. Nothing Kevlar specific.

I always carry an extra mag thats kevlar specific just in case of wackos. Yes, they make pump tubes that filter water.

Bought a S&W 15/22 instead of 10/22...can't find a quick loader like you can find for Ruger magazines though.
However I'm able to use standard AR mag pouches to carry the load of 8 25 round mags plus it works just like an AR.
Put an old 4x on it and it's rock solid and fun to boot.

I’m hearing opposite out of box. Only reason to go 10/22 is if you want to sink money in to mods.

General consensus out of box is marlin is more accurate.

Too long a barrel to carry in the woods. Faster to drop in a new mag on the Ruger than load a tube. Better trigger.
Guess it depends on what you want to do with it - if you are strictly target shooting, or using in the field for hunting.

Both. Out of box folks seem to like the marlin trigger better.

I do like the idea of not carrying mags. It’s not way to speed load the tube too.

I’m not sold yet either way. Going to look at a 10/22 takedown today.

If I was going to mod 10/22 all the way.

My deer rifle was a Ruger .44 Carbine, best deer rifle for the north woods.

When I decided to get another .22 I didn’t give the Ruger a thought, looked like my .44 and I wanted something besides another Ruger; that would have made 4 at the time.
So I looked for an alternative and bought the Smith & Wesson MP 15-22, my first black rifle.

Being already a bit familiar with an AR layout it was a great entry for me into that platform (I had a mini-14 at that time).

My buddy has a 10/22 and he can reload magazines faster with his crank hopper system. I like his rifle a lot however I change magazines at a much faster rate, drop the mag, drop your hand and slap it in and release the bolt. All the rails a boy or girl could want for adding goodies that you can swap off with your AR.

The function is similar to any AR platform. Magazines are same size as AR so magazine pouches are readily available and lay flat.
It prefers better .22 ammo; the only fault I have with it.

Whenever the subject of .22’s comes up I am seemingly the only guy that says MP 15-22.

I don’t have Ruger envy, but I need to ask why a 10/22?

Found the marlin locally for $160 and the 10/22 non takedown for 210.

Waldo I’m not set on either but leaning marlin.

Never looked at mp.
