If there's one more that wants to jump in, I'd pair the two of you. Just throwing it out there. There's a month to do a review of three cigars. This hasn't fully started yet, ship date by 3/15.

If anybody needs a handful of blank bands to relabel the cigars, you can PM me and I'll throw a dozen ish in an envelope and get em out tomorrow.

Cutting it close.

Thought I had put that in the OP and just now while rebanding my sends I checked since I never got any PMs about em. Guess there's no real penalty for sending on Monday instead of Friday, so if you need some let me know.

Send me an address if you need some. I have plenty to share.

No, but they can be. Pick out three cigars that are interesting to you in the price points and see what someone else thinks about a cigar you like.

I think the point of any cigar you send isn’t a cigar that you can pick up a 5er for under say $30 on cbid on a regular basis because most guys on this trade would have potentially picked that up already. Last year my yard gar was an old common cbid cigar that isnt sold anymore. I don’t think I’ve ever spent over $10 on a single cigar on cbid so if you have something that fits that category from here it won’t be a common cigar most of us would have had.

Received my package from kombat today: Two packs of Dearborn brand snausages and a Faygo Redpop...a "mystery" fiver, and he also very generously included another fiver which included an 858 Rosado, 858 SG, JdN Antano, Diesel 10th, and Perdomo 10th. Also included some Michigan band-aids that I will be needing after this noop beatdown.

Way over the top, sir. I’m looking forward to getting started on that mystery fiver. Thank you very much.

Received Matt’s package today. 5 cigars with a hint that the are all pretty full cigars. 3 mystery with a good description leaving me intrigued. To complete the 5er a Balmoral torpedo which sounds very interesting and a monte open master cooban and I’ve not had real monte that I haven’t enjoyed.

Local swag included Johnson’s smokehouse sausage jerky which had a bit of a kick. Ate one piece and shared one with my son. 3 Brown and Haley mountain bars - peanut butter already consumed. Lastly a bag of Skookum coffee that I will be trying this weekend when I can take time to enjoy it.

Looking forward to diving into these 3 smokes as Matt’s selection has never been a disappointment and am sure he picked out some of his faves.

Thanks Matt!!

It's cool. Just fighting for proper credit. And I was going off your logo. I'm not a Buckeye grad but claim them through 18yrs of proximity. That and the Valparaiso Crusaders aren't much to follow sportswise except for that one magnificent tournament about 20yrs back

Glad I hit some NHs. Can't wait so see if your first impressions are accurate. Enjoy!

Shaun turned me on to the Shadow King last year as one of the mystery cigars so I had to return the favor this year.

Smoked my first mystery last night. Came down to French Lick for Spring Break and headed to the bar in the casino after the kids went to bed.

Chose to pick cigar #2. Paired with regular coke from lessons learned last year.

Approx 6x54, guessing Maduro

Appearance is veiny and tobacco is rough to the touch. There is a glue repair that looked professionally fixed. Nice work Matt.

Smell was a bit leather/cocoa.

Draw was about perfect, just a little on the tight side but didn't have to work for it. Prelight draw was simple and light. No real flavors just a quality tobacco taste.

1/3: First couple puffs after were light and bitter. From the descriptions Matt gave I was surprised at how mild this cigar seemed. Bitterness went away and it was a very smooth, simple smoke - no noticeable spice or other common profiles given to cigars. I gave in to the fact that all I was getting was a clean, earthy taste and decided that's what this cigar is and just enjoyed it.

Ash was very light the burn was wavy but required no touchups. There was ample smoke produced as well.

2/3: This is remaining one-dimensional, but in a good way. It's not complex but just a very enjoyable smoke that is going well with the environment I'm in. Hit the halfway point and had the only touchup being the spot where the repair was made. The fullness also kicked in at the halfway point. The flavor didn't change but the nicotine kicked in and I'm feeling the effects from it. I rode the buzz through the rest of the cigar.

3/3: The profile is remaining extremely consistent. Just the smallest hint of spice to put a bit of ting on my lips. Decided to have a Johnnie Black on the rocks to finish off the night with what was left. Put it out just before it got to my fingertips and was pleasantly surprised the bitterness didn't return as this neared the end.

I picked this cigar because I thought it might be the yard gar based on appearance in comparison to the others. I would say the overall experience would qualify this one as such. That said this was a fantastic cigar that I'd like to have a box to go to in my humidor. It was a very enjoyable smoke.

Reserving the right to change my mind after the other two.

danm, the box just arrived, and my wife carried it into the house. She opened the door and said "This is for you, and it's really heavy, what the hell did you order now!?
I opened up the box, and B00M! great hit...first off was a note better describing the contents...

1) a 2017 limited release One Trick Pony-Cocoa Butter Kisses Imp. Stout from a brewery local to him. Once a year release, no advance notice. (danm got in line and waited over an hour, in 40 degree rain to get his 4 bottle limit....and then he goes and sends one my way...thanks danm... Beer

2) Maple Syrup from a farm local to him, and the note says "we" volunteered to help with the sap collection, and this is from that batch.
I'm not sure who "we" is danm, but thank them for their efforts....the syrup looks great and I will be enjoying it soon,,,the important question now is Pancakes or Waffles???

3)Also included in the box as protection for the great cigars inside, was a repurposed Padilla 1932 signature cigar box. A very nice solid protector of the cigars he included inside.

a DE Liga Privada T52 from 2014

a Cain F tubo from 2013

a CH Jericho Hill from 2016

and 3 tasty looking specimens numbered 1,2,and 3

looking forward to smoking them and reviewing them, and finding out how wrong I can be on a regular basis

Thanks danmBeer
