A few questions:

1. Why’d you leave?

2. Why’d you come back?

3. Do you regret leaving?

4. Do you regret coming back?

1. I moved from Florida to California and got busy exploring the west coast + working in Silicon Valley.

2. Covid-19 provided me excess free time during “two years to flatten the curve”. I went from flying 100k miles a year to 0.

3. No.

4. No.

My apologies Cell-tick, I didn't get around to placing my order until today. Some stuff headed out with various delivery dates from Sept 7 to Sept 14.

It confuses me why some folks would sully a post/thread such as this. A simple ask for donations, nothing more, nothing less. Donate if you want, if not just move along.

No big deal. Most folks here are not looking for recognition, a pat on the back, or praise. Most folks just try to do the right thing.

My comment was more targeted at folks that try to (intentionally or not) pull something like the original post off topic. This particular one is is not a thread that to do that, in my opinion.

Look at you, champion of all that is ethical and moral...

I see you, pretending like you are all generous in everyone's threads...

You get on the vherf, kill the vibe by talking about how generous you are and how generous people should be...

Trying to give TDub $1 for your share of the vherf lmfao....

GTFO, you're so fake, it's so blatant seeing it almost makes me cringe.

Here's a thread turner for you... yo Bucky, go f*ck your self.

You are 98.2% wrong about Bucky. The 1.8% remaining gives space for him to be a serial killer.

You are alienating enough people by you being you. Don’t create more adversaries, unless this is becoming a weird, self destructive, vanity project.

You're right... probably went a little too far with Bucky.

I actually like Bucky, we have good conversations from time to time.

I don't know whether or not Bucky feels the same way, but it's not like he doesn't like to throw jabs from time to time.

Am I making adversaries? Even on the herf, me and Bucky gone back and forth for some time.

With that said, I was a little mad at Bucky when I wrote what I wrote last night... I didn't mean it Bucky.

I'm sorry.

That's too lean. Fat adds flavor and 1.8% fat content of meat would be way too dry. I would target about 80/20 meat to fat ratio on my meat products.

I didn't respond to this part.

I don't care. There's only a handful of people that still post here regularly that I like.

The people that were left here were so hopeful that the alts were me, they wanted it so bad... They wanted a bad guy to point their finger at... such is the nature of people. The fact of the matter here, is that most the people on this site wanted it to be me (And I remember each and every one).

So, I don't care.

You know when you walk into a place and you say, that can't be real (the bombing, the generosity, etc, etc, etc).

I never did buy it, I still don't buy it... I still say it's not real.

Maybe it's been real for a few, but I seen more noobs come in here and get suckered into playing the generosity game... just like most other places, there's been more losers here than winners in the trading game, and that's a fact... anyone of you generous mother f*ckers want to challenge that? We can go dig through the history of noobs. Sure, some of you have a lot of money and are getting to the point where you feel you better do something to get into heaven, but just like in most places in life... if it's too good to be true, it probably is. And for most people that have ever been on this site, that is the truth.

If I was any of you on any of your posts pandering for sh*t and Bucky showed up, I would tell him to not worry about it... (I shouldn't need to tell any of you why)... but that doesn't happen here... you just let him do it.

I've seen it happen to gullible noob after gullible noob.

Again... I don't care that I piss you people off, I really don't.

Edit:

I re-read my post (as I do often), This has to be said, there has been and are truly some very generous people here... but trading cigars is a zero sum game... actually it's worse than that, because you actually smoke the pieces. Mathematically, what I'm saying is true.

that is a stirring indictment, bgz...I hope that the landscape here is not as barren as you believe it to be...edit notwithstanding, memories of cigars received in trades don't just go up in smoke and disappear.

and I've seen evidence to the contrary...that noobs come and take advantage of the generosity of this community...score some cigars and swag and bail shortly thereafter...

and some of the activities/traditions that used to happen have come to an end, like the Noob/Vet trade...as a result of pandering or fake generosity??? who knows...

but legit generosity seems to persist...all the OpFTH (RIP) fundraisers over the many years are testimony to that...there are some genuinely generous folks here who give and expect nothing in return.

How is this in anyway related to the original post? The the post was a simple and honest request to rally some friends and members here to donate to a worthy cause. If you don't want to contribute then don't. Why do you feel the need to sully yet another post and try to drag it into the gutter with your irrational off topic rants and your other BS?

Forget it, don't reply. Move along.

There’s been a few BOTL I’ve witnessed here get past cynical into spiteful and continue on a mysterious verbal vendetta against the forces of cigar forum evil. It’s not the same as arguing.

So, my daughter was finally able to come over and pick up the packages. There were A LOT! I wasn't there when she opened them so she still has all the notes that were in each package so she can write down who sent what and write thank you notes. Here's what I know so far...

Eugene decided to send lots of individual packages so he could write dad jokes in the notes. My wife told me that when my daughter starting reading the dad jokes she complained that I now had help and 2 against 1 isn't fair. (I text her at least one dad joke a day.)

Ben sent some cool stuff and included a tee shirt that read. "Does This Tee Shirt Make Me Look Bald." It's funny but deep down in parts I thought I had buried I felt a twinge. How could my hair abandon me like that!

Al sent some items one of which was a really big area rug for the kids to sit on.

2 people decided to remain anonymous. (One of them was HockeyDad sent from his Batman persona.)

I know that at least 2 more people have stuff still on the way.

Many boxes contained multiple items.

The amount of packages that arrived made her very emotional. It was one thing that actually went right for her during her first week of class.

As I mentioned the school was a public high school that was taken over by a few charters and this year went back to a public school. The change happened in the middle of the school break. The charter school took all the kids records when they took their computers with them. So, my daughter has no records for the kids she's working with and cannot access the curriculum to continue where the previous teachers left off. Added to that is that when the charter passed the school back to the school district all the kids had to re-register. Only no one informed the families. So, on day one, hundreds of kids showed up that the school had no idea were coming. All week long more and more kids were added to her class. It's just her and one teachers aide in the class and she's already up to 12 kids and more are coming. The school says they are trying to find her more help but, who knows how long that will be. So, she's understandably panicking. 12 kids aged 14 - 21. All on the spectrum or with some mental disability and about half also have physical disabilities. Some are non verbal. It's been a rough start. Once she's done with all the notes I'll get them so I can post who sent what and post the dad jokes so you can judge gene.

Thank you all very much. I really appreciate what you guys did. It made her day which made mine:-)

I'm hoping things get better, teaching is tough enough without the extra headache of poor organization, and times 10 for special needs students.

You're welcome. Beer

Sorry those were just the names my wife could remember. Full credit for jackassery will most assuredly be given it's proper due once I receive all the notes that were added to the packages. Knowing you. You'll get your own post... or will you? Maybe I'm intentionally leaving you out because when you cut your hair you hurt me. Think

Okay so I'm getting pics of some of the notes... but, not what they came with.

One came from Madspackler. Just said a gift from an online friend of your dad. Thank you for your gift! Here's an online beer!
Beer

Got some from Ben with the message "Your dad is bald." Thanks Ben!

Delta sent a few with the message "I hope this help you create the ideal learning environment in your classroom!" Thank you for helping out Al as well of for the awesome smokes over the years!

Then there was Sunoverbeach... he made sure to send 5 packages. Here are his messages.

1) "I'm told you love dad jokes so... "

2) "I'm afraid for the calendar. It's days are numbered!"
That's a grade A dad joking right there!

3) "My wife said that I should do lunges to stay in shape. That would be a big step forward."
A nuclear grade groan if I ever heard one.

4) "Why do fathers take an extra pair of socks when they go golfing? In case they get a hole in one!"
Too easy. Boo! Boo I say!

5) "If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? Pilgrims!"
The man is an Artist with a capitol A!

There are two more boxes that have arrived and I know more are coming. I'll update as I receive more details;-) You guys are awesome!

I did notice a lack of cigars...

That's right! I turned a mooch post into a mooch post! This thing has gone meta! If I can figure out how to mooch from a mooch post inside of a mooch post a black hole is created or world peace happens or something. Anxious

A lot more boxes showed up. But, they were all anonymous except for a package from Cheno. Ton's of cleaning wipes, hand sanitizers, posters, fidget toys, teaching assist items, and other supplies. All told there were at least 25 packages and boxes. You guys are too much. Thank you to the anonymous senders as well as everyone I mentioned. It's already being put to good use!

Now... I'm about to open a cigar shop and could really use some supplies! Cabs only please aged Cubans preferred. There will also be a bar in this shop so any alcohol you have laying around would help too! Any spare good looking women would also be appreciated. Need something to draw the customers in! Whistle
