Iโmma not here to defend Prime or to change anyoneโs mind but given the state of college football (โฆNIL, transfer portal, conference jumping, etcโฆ.), to me, heโs sort of a breath of fresh air. Foโ sure his methods are a F*#K YOU to the NCAA, itโs archaic rules and now, total f*#k up of whatโs happening in their sport. Deion didnโt go through the โnormalโ b.s. of the coaching ladder (i.e., lowly paid grad assistant, position coach, coordinator, l-o-n-g hours in the facility, etcโฆ.) before becoming a head coach so that again goes against the grain. The way he used the transfer portal to rebuild his program has to have alarmed many (โฆbut theyโre probably mad that they didnโt think of that soonerโฆ).
I wasnโt a fan of Deion during his playing days in the NFL and MLB but respected the h-e-l-l out of the player / athlete. He TALKED but WALKED the talk and then some. Heโs certainly in the discussion of all-time greatest athlete. Nonetheless, I lost track of him and didnโt pay much attention to his Jacksonville State success but the more interviews I saw, the more I started to warm up to him.
Iโll probably never say Iโmma Deion fan but because of the sudden interest in whatโs happening in Colorado, Iโve actually been watching college games this year. Definitely much more than any year in recent history.
So yah, foโ sure Iโll be tuning in to see what happens in the Oregon game but wonโt necessarily be heartbroken if the Buffaloes lose nor sky-high happy iffinโ they win. A good, down-to-the-wire battle is what Iโll be rooting for.
